Eratic recording of subtitles
I use a Toshiba RD-97DTKB for recording feature films. I have poor hearing and I need subtitles. The timer setup screen on the Toshiba has a tickbox to instruct it to record with subtitles, but it doesn't always do it. I appreciate some films may be broadcast without subtitles, but I find that films listed in the Radio Times as having subtitles are sometimes recorded without. Might this be a problem with my Toshiba or the broadcasts?

Have a look to see if the affected programmes are on particular channels. AFAIK not all broadcasters use subtitles or at least not on all their channels.

Thanks for your response. I haven't kept a log of which channels give me a problem, but I'm sure that over a period of time there has been inconsistency, certainly with Film 4, and Channel 5. I'll try and make a note in the coming weeks.
