How the chuffin' smeg...
...is a pizza a pie?
Shepherd's pie is a blatant lie, and how can anyone refer to a sausage roll as a pie? What is a cornish pasty but stuff in a pastry quilt... why is it often referred to as a pie? Why do pukka claim to make pies, when they clearly make bin fodder? Oh, my head hurts! |

I've never heard anyone refer to a pasty or sausage roll as a pie?

Only shepherd's pie has pie in its name and it is what is says. A pie for shepherds. Whether you like it or not is irrelevant, because it is what it says.
Just because it doesn't have a shortcrust top and bottom is also irrelevant. |

I remember the Goodfellas Pizza Pie. They were more of a pie shape in that they were cooked in a pie type tin with raised edges instead of just on a tray.
