Battle of the Ballroom- SCD vs. DWTS

Although there are a few games running on here at the moment, I am pleased to announce the launch of Battle of the Ballroom, a unique show that pits Team GB against Team USA. 12 celebrities from both Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars will compete for your votes! Some of the most memorable names ever featured on both shows are lacing up their dancing shoes as they take to the floor for a second time. The 12 couples vying for you votes are-

TEAM GB

Julian Clary & Erin Boag- The bronze medal couple in Series 2, can the camp comedian and “Miss Whiplash” do the home side proud?

Ricky Whittle & Natalie Lowe- Perhaps one of the best technical dancers ever to compete on Strictly, Ricky finished 2nd in Series 7. Can he go one better in Battle of the Ballroom?

Matt Di Angelo & Flavia Cacace- Another second place finisher, EastEnders star Matt will re-enter the competition with his now ex-girlfriend Flavia Cacace. Can they re-capture the magic of Series 5 or will it be murder on the dance floor?

Denise Lewis & Ian Waite- Denise was the first ever Olympian to take to the Strictly dance floor back in Series 2, and her athleticism took her all the way to second place. Will she finally get her hands on a gold medal this time around?

Cherie Lunghi & James Jordan- The impossibly glamorous actress was a front runner for much of Series 6, and was recently declared “the least deserving eliminee ever”. Can she and James strike a blow for the older generation and triumph for Team GB?

Emma Bunton & Darren Bennett- With the highest average score of Series 4 and eons of dance training behind her, Emma & Darren should be hot to trot all the way to the Battle of the Ballroom final! Will Emma be able to spice up the dance floor, as well as your life?

TEAM USA

Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson- Donny holds the record for the oldest person ever to win a DWTS series- being 51 when he lifted the Season 9 trophy. Can Donny show that even the craziest of horses can be turned into a graceful stead on the dance floor?

Romeo & Chelsie Hightower- The pint size rapper was a reluctant ballroom boy but gradual improvement saw him dance his way to 5th place. Will his Battle of the Ballroom journey be poetry in motion?

Giles Marini & Cheryl Burke- The French Sex & The City star was beaten by only 0.4% place into second place in Season 8. Back and hoping he can lead his adopted home country of America to first place, will he be able to sizzle as much on the dance floor as he does in the city?

Mel B & Maksim Chmerekovskiy- It’s battle of the Spice Girls this year as Season 5 runner-up Mel B shimmies her way onto the dance floor! The British born singer took the American series by storm- but is Mel B just a “Wannabe” dancer?

Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas- At 85 years of age, Oscar winner Cloris Leachman is the oldest person ever to take part in Dancing With The Stars. She reached 6th place first time round with Corky, but will Cloris’ old school Hollywood glamour prove good enough for Team USA?

Nicole Scherzinger & Derek Hough- One of the worlds most beautiful women, Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough captivated a nation when they won the 10th season of Dancing With The Stars? Can the Pussycat Doll prove she is a tiger on the dance floor and take the trophy for Team USA?

Format

The format will be like any other series of Strictly or DWTS- with the celebrities competing week by week with a new dance. The couples will be marked by 3 judges (whom I will source from this forum) and after a public vote, the Bottom 2 will face the dreaded dance-off.

How to get involved?

If you want to be one of three judges on Battle of the Ballroom, please don’t hesitate to PM me telling me you are interested. Applications are open to anyone and close at 7pm tonight, when I will reveal which 3 people will be joining the panel.

Thank You for reading and until tonight… KEEP DANCING!
