Wilson Phillips appreciation

2 albums or original material "Wilson Phillips" from 1990 and 1992's "Shadows & Light"....both albums are still on rotation at VC towers....great soft rock with superb harmonies - a shame they went their separate ways in 1993 only to return with a substandard covers album "California" in 2004 and the 2010 Christmas album (I HATE when my favourite singers release these!!)
I wish the Chynna Phillips solo effort from 1995 "Naked & Sacred" was the 3rd WP album - another strong effort that would benefit from the Wilson sisters

I always thought they were a one hit wonder myself.

Weren't they the offspring of Mama's and Papa's?

They were a one hit wonder lil lexie - Hold On their only top 10 here. - Wendy and Carnie were Brian Wilson's daughters from the Beach Boys and Chynna the daughter of John Phillips from the Mamas and Papas....NOT the daughter he was shagging for years!!!

I love You Won't See Me Cry - should've been a bigger hit (No.18 in the UK in 1992) I still have my deluxe CD single box with postcards! directed by Michael Bay!

and You're In Love also should've been top 10 from the first album....gorgeous song

I like the cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" from the covers album...how different is Carnie - although seeing the Bridesmaids clip of them, it looks like she put the weight back on again

Based on her memoirs AFTER he died - could be just another Mommie Dearest - but Chynna seems to back her up.

Allegations of sexual relationship with daughter

In September 2009, John's daughter Mackenzie Phillips claimed in a memoir, High on Arrival, that she and her father had a ten-year incestuous relationship. She stated that the relationship began when she was 19 years old in 1979, after Phillips raped her while they were both under the influence of heavy narcotics on the eve of her first marriage.[2]
Phillips appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show on 23 September 2009 in which she told Winfrey that her father injected her with cocaine and heroin. According to Phillips, the incestuous relationship ended when she became pregnant and did not know who had fathered the child. These doubts resulted in an abortion, which her father paid for, "and I never let him touch me again." [3] [4]
Genevieve Waite, John's wife at the time the abuse allegedly occurred, denied the allegations and said they were totally incongruous with his character. Michelle Phillips, John's second wife, also stated that she had "every reason to believe [Mackenzie's account is] untrue."[5]
Chynna Phillips, Mackenzie's half-sister, stated that she believed Mackenzie's claims and that Mackenzie first told her about the relationship during a phone conversation in 1997, approximately 11 years after the supposed relationship had ended.[6] Bijou Phillips, Mackenzie's other half-sister, said in a statement that Mackenzie had informed her of the relationship when Bijou was 13 years old,[7] but also stated, "I'm 29 now, I've talked to everyone who was around during that time, I've asked the hard questions. I do not believe my sister. Our father is many things, this is not one of them."[8] Jessica Woods, the daughter of Denny Doherty, said that her father knew of the relationship.[9]

In 2001 Bellefire (member Ciara I think) admitted they had been likened to Wilson Phillips. I therefore tend to think of Bellefire whenever I hear Hold On now.
