This is the first week in ages so I have quite a few gaps.
Resuming regular viewing now especially during the Ronnie weeks. Looking forward to Nick's return next week and anything to do with Charlie, Ronnie, Dot.
Thanks DTC for putting Ronnie with the Cottons; Dot and Charlie. I am loving it.
I wonder where will Charlie and Ronnie move in together, to Ronnie's place or Dot's.
I doubt Ronnie would like the décor of Dot's house but you never know.

It makes sense actually for Ronnie and Charlie's wedding to be the anniversary, now that you point out the link with Ian and Dot.
Also considering that it would be live DTC would trust to have some of his best actors take centre stage and we know what he thinks about Sam

It was a few episodes after Ronnie returned for Phil's wedding. She asks Charlie if he wants to go to the scan as she had a scare the day before and had pains in teh stomach. They gave Sam a big false belly for the scene It'll probably be on youtube by now!

It was a good scene because in the early scenes they were both sceptical having a baby together but after the scan they were both excited.

Did you see the cheesy DVD RomCom scenes? They were great!

I think the only scenes I haven't enjoyed is when Roxy interferes. I just say to myself "oh go away Roxy!" go and play with your married man.

I missed most of June to September myself after Ronnie left so I don't really care much for the Carters

I can't see Ronnie staying at Dot's full time. I think they will get a place of their own (Alfie's house is going spare ). The only problem is once Roxy finds out about Aleks and kicks him out she will probably want to move in with Ronnie again like a leech. It was Ronnie's house that she brought for teh two of them and Amy and she lets Aleks move in. Charming sister she is!

Thanks for the link hun. I had missed those scenes. It is great that some lovely people spend time and effort to edit Ronnie's scenes. Like you say it saves us from watching the scenes one doesn't like aka Alfie last night, or Alfie in general.

I agree about Roxy. Ronnie and Roxy have great chemistry and there are some lovely scenes between them, but sometimes it's too much so it is nice to have a break and see Ronnie with other people.
I don't doubt that we will see the scenario you mention after Alex is found out.

Thanks for reminding me about Amy. Ronnie and Amy's scenes are great too. It looks like Amy spends more time with Ronnie and Roxy these days.

Lol to think I was one of the culprits that posted on Jack and Ronnie appreciation thread in those days, (pre the whole Sam's baby debacle)
It doesn't come close to the chemistry and natural feel of Charlie and Ronnie.
These two are so great together. I really like Charlie as a character.
I hope they won't ruin them as a couple.
I am really excited for Nick's return because of them. I am expecting Nick to threaten Ronnie and the baby.

I don't get why Roxy wasn't happy for Ronnie. That was all about because shes jealous Ronnie has a better bloke? It seemed a weak excuse to me. Maybe its because Roxy is usually teh one to go for the quick shotgun wedding and with Aleks she can't do that.

I think they could have explained that more about why Roxy wasn't happy.

You have to laugh at Phil. Either smash Charlie's head in or walk out. Don't make a scene and act all 'ard and tell everyone to leave cos hes the king of the mitchells' I'm sure Billy and Lola would have been OK about it if Phil hadn't been there.

I'm not sure who came up with Charlie and Ronnie but kudos to them because it seems to have worked. It would be interesting to hear from them to find out if it was all planned or they noticed chemistry between them back in Easter time.

I can seem them becoming the new power couple. Move along Phil and Shaz, Mick and Linda, Max and whoever he's with this week. Ronnie is taking her place as queen of the square again!

So Ronnie officially moved from the dark side over to the light, as suggested by the symbolism of her removing Archie's ring from her finger.


She will have lots of things to deal with lol, starting with Nick and Alex but I hope they won't make her kill Nick. That would be too much.

I think that was significant when she removed the ring. Ubfortunately, she still owns Archie's ring.

I am slightly worried that this happiness is short term and Ronnie will once again lose everything. Maybe there is more to Charlie than meets the eye (did he swap the bills or Phil?)

Or Nick will steal the baby.

I wonder if DTC still has his Ronnie gradually move to the dark side but its more long term plot. Another murder though would end her character so I don't want her to kill again.

I know that she disposed of Carl's body, I stil ldefend her as a character because it was self defence when she slammed the boot on Carl. I don't think Ronnie would simply kill someone 'just like that'.

I mean she looked worried when Nick had the knife, if she was a killer she would have grabbed the knife and stabbed Nick there and then.

It could be a long term arc but I really hope DTC has no plans for a dark side at all. And if he did I hope he dropped them.
Murdering will end her character for good. It is a shame to do that to a character like Ronnie when it is so obvious that she can be reinvented time and time again and be just as enjoyable as the first day she arrived in EE, as evidenced by the recent storyline.
Not to mention that Sam/Ronnie has chemistry will every character they have involved her with, past and present.

I wish she had thrown the ring away but maybe that is to come.
I have no problems with Nick stealing the baby and Ronnie getting desperate to save the baby as that will be great drama, as long as it doesn't end with Ronnie murdering anyone.

I think it was Phil who tricked Charlie with the money but they have left it ambiguous. I guess we will find out soon enough.

I wonder what will happen with Dot. She will be angry with Ronnie too once she finds out that Ronnie knows but I think she will forgive Ronnie.

Finally caught up on last weeks episodes.

Like you all, I'm really glad they dropped the whole "villain" routine. It didn't work for me. I hadn't actually noticed she was still wearing Archie's ring until recently and it didn't sit right with me. So, I'm glad that has come off her finger.

I am really liking this Veronica. I get that after Danielle died, she went a bit baby mad and then EE ruined everything by doing the baby swap, but she's come out of the last few years with her head held high after apologising.
She looks renewed and refreshed. I was extremely worried what the plan would be when EE had her get pregnant again but it works. It works well. Hopefully she'll get some sort of happy ending. I never pictured her with Charlie - on paper it looked odd, but again it works well. They are actually really sweet. I'm rooting for them.
When Ronnie was with Jack... in the end I just felt like they were being put back together for the fans' sake and I'm glad that's ended. This friendship/relationship with Charlie is genuine. You can see they are falling for each other. He's standing by her no problem with the fact she's killed someone and had a bit of a baby swap. I'm interested to see Ronnie's reaction when she finds out Charlie knows.
One more thing I'm "glad" (I'm saying glad a lot haha ) about...
Dot becoming part of Ronnie's family, but more closely. Ronnie saying "I love her." You know she means it. Out of everybody, Dot has stood by Ronnie the most. The way she told the story about the baby swap, you could see the compassion she felt for Ronnie.
Dot brushing Ronnie's hair and Ronnie nearly telling her the truth about James was one of my most memorable scenes with them. Second favourite being Ronnie telling Dot "I had a baby when I was 14. She was beautiful." Those laundrette scenes were so moving.
Those two characters could have a two-hander episode and leave everyone in awe.

So yeah. I'm a very happy Ronnie fan at the moment. EE just don't effing ruin it please!

Don't agree about Roxy and Aleks because that won't last and it's going to make Ronnie turn mean again when she finds out what he's getting up to behind her sister's back.

Love that article. I am not sure about the bit about Roxy and Alex but the Ronnie part is spot on.
She has been refreshed as a character. It's like we have been discussing here that B.K didn't know how to write her so ended up piling more misery and using her as plot device. It was draining to see.

It looks like DTC likes it too as I noticed that he retweeted the article today.

I am glad Charlie told Dot today so the secret is out now. I just want to see scenes between Ronnie, Dot and Charlie where they are not awkward around her due to knowing that Nick is alive.
Let's move on to the real plot now.
What does Nick want?
I liked that Phil saw that Ronnie and Charlie make each other happy and told them about the money.
I think they should show more of the nice side of Phil rather than that "we're Mitchells" rubbish.
Phil and Ronnie have a nice relationship and it is great to see more of that.

Great writing for Ronnie and Charlie tonight with his speech. It was as if the writers were talking to the audience through Charlie and answering all those comments about their relationship. Yes it is quick and they have only known each other for a little while, but it is not just because they are having a baby that they are getting married. It feels natural. They trust each other, make each other laugh and can be themselves with one another. I like the fact that Charlie is a genuinely good guy. I didn't want another character with a hidden dark past for Ronnie.

Ronnie is only in tonights episode this week and then not in at least Monday and Tuesday next week. The other Cottons are which is odd. You would think Sam would be working every day having missed much of the year so far!!

I haven't looked at any spoilers or anything but I worry that we won't see her until December now.

I think your right. She is not in this week (Carter week) and not in next week (Carter weeks) and the following week looks like a Beale week.

Have to start calling her 'part-time Ronnie'.

I'm shocked to see that Roxy has been in 58 episodes this year and Ronnie has almost been in 50 and she missed half the year!!

Hopefully we will see more of them in 2015.

No sign of Ronnie yet in the spoilers and we are up to 1st week in December.
But at least the Alex storyline seems to be building up that week so hopefully we will see Ronnie soon.
It is safe to assume that the wedding will be for the 30th anniversary as there isn't enough time to build it up for Christmas or New year.
Ronnie's baby is due end of January, beginning of February as she said she was 5 months pregnant when she at the end of September.

Hopefully 2015 is going to be e big year for Ronnie. The first half of it is likely to anyway, with the baby, wedding, Nick, Alex and Roxy's sotryline etc.

I wonder whether they will call the baby Charlie and call him CJ.

I reckon Ronnie will get a scare on 1st Jan just because its the day James died.

I hate the way Ronnie has disappeared again She was in 1 episode in July and then none until September and seh appears for one month and then not in it again for a whole month. Its ridiculous. I see people have mentioned this about other characters too such as Denise, Patrick and Kat.

Yet all we get are the flipping Carters (can you tell I'm not a fan?) If they had evened the stories out I wouldn't have minded. Have the rape and the Prostate cancer but why have all the Shirley drivel and Mick being her son crap.

There is never an episode withjout a Carter and they never take breaks from teh show.

Its boring me senseless

I have watched EE since 1985 so I am loyal to the show, however, since 2011 Ronnie is the only character I tune in for. I have tried to watch it again because it is better than the Kirkwood/Newman era's but now that Ronnie is gone again and all I see is the Carter faces I want to switch off again.

I am dreading Christmas EE because I just know it'll be one secret after another coming out at the Carters whilst Ronnie will probably have a one scene cameo stuffing her face with Turkey at dinner and that's it.

That’s my fear too. I doubt we will see her again this side of Christmas.
We may get a Ronnie glimpse or James’ mention on New Year’s Day but I am not holding my breath.
I know what you mean about the Carter dominance. Although I don’t hate them, I am getting sick of week after week of Carter drama, or Carter related aka Tina and Tosh.
I watched Monday and part of Tuesday last week but not Thursday or Friday.
Tbh I couldn't care less what Shirley’s secrets are and how they will impact the family or for Linda and Mick’s baby.
I think they have mounted too many secrets on these characters. It wouldn't be so bad if they had combined the Carter’s storylines with other plots. As it is, the other storylines hardly get any screen time whilst we have episodes showing scenes and scenes of every minute of every day of Linda, starting the day in her pyjamas and hair rollers, all way through to the evening, from her bedroom, to the kitchen, to the living room, to downstairs in the pub, to the bathroom and back to the bedroom again.

Ronnie returns tonight low down on credits so probably a cameo role an also on Friday and then I think shes absent again most of next week.

It seems the Aleks/Roxy story will be over soon. Had this been a Carter story they would have given it a full week of episodes.

I have never known such bias in EE. Yes we have had the Slater show, the Stacey show, the Ronnie show etc.. in the past but they were never dominated the show like the Carters have. Mick and Linda have done about 50 episodes more already than Ronnie in 2009 (her best year)

Also to continue my rant LOL!

I can see why Sam is doing panto because she ain't doing anything in EE right now!!
