I hope Ronnie comes out of hospital soon because her scenes are getting repetitive. It would also be infinitely better if Carl non entity White doesn't get mentioned anymore. He is one of those characters who is best forgotten. I must admit I wasn paying much attention tonight but I saw in the episode thread that Ronnie knows Vincent since 2008 Can someone please explain how? Thanks

That's spooky about Roxy finding the ring again, like its finding its way back home. I still don't understand why she would even show it to Ronnie. There was literally no good outcome there. But then again I am talking about Roxy so sense is not required.

From what I've seen of the hospital scenes they seem really repetitive with no real structure to them. Like they could have done more with her recovery and how she feels towards Mathew. But once she's out hopefully that will give her more freedom. Playing all your scenes from a bed must be rather boring.

Gotta ask, how many of Ronnie's messes has Phil actually cleared up? Because with the Carl stuff technically it was good for Phil to have him gone. Personally I'd like Ronnie to be back being the sensible leader of the family but the person who will get the job done when things get difficult.

I tend to call myself a fan of certain soap characters rather than of soaps. I got attached to Ronnie like I did Carla on Corrie but I find soaps frustrating and couldn't watch continuously. Everything I've seen seems badly plotted and fragmented (yes I know I am literally watching fragments). Do they even know where they want to take the characters? And looking back even the things I was interested in like how the rape reveal happened was rubbish and it frustrates me as it could all be so much better.

I think he said about the R&R opening rather than a specific date and the R&R has had several openings so I still none the wiser how long he has known Ronnie. Also someone said Phil said something about Vincent's dad.

I would need to watch the episode again as I to was easily distracted with other things and only turn around when I hear Ronnie's voice and watch the scenes so I may have missed all this.

Normally, I would be happy to search this out and re-watch but I am so deflated by EE right now I can't be bothered!!! - too many dreary Carter scenes to fast forward through.

I'm not sure how much longer I can watch EE because its becoming a chore to watch. I think they should re-edit the show and run the Ronnie scenes omnibus on Sundays. Although at the moment it would only need a 5 minute slot.

I really hope things change soon. DTC has disappointed me so much. I had high hopes for him but he isn't Santer. If things have not improved by the time Kathy's return (which will no doubt have some Carter involvement) I am done with this show forever regardless if Ronnie is still on the show.

So I caught up with this week's EastEnders last night, and I'm a bit torn between Ronnie and Charlie's relationship, and the possible relationship between Ronnie and Vincent.

Watching their interactions during the trial made me think of how cute Ronnie and Charlie can be, and there is a bit of chemistry. We finally got to see Ronnie play the role of the supporting wife which was nice. And the holding hands, plus Charlie's calm reaction after realising that Ronnie got rid of the drug dealer...I don't know what to think now? They could be such a cute couple but that's all going to go down the drain soon. And deep down, I think that they both possess some sort of underlying love for each other. It may not be as strong and obvious as the love Ronnie and Jack had for each other, but it's there, and I am not sure that I want to part with it just yet - damn that affair storyline!!!!!

On the other hand, Vincent and Ronnie could be this power couple that Albert Square really needs. But Vincent doesn't love her - I think that he just sees Ronnie as a challenge and wants to take her on just to get into her pants . Although I do enjoy the sexual banter/chemistry in their early scenes. However, what can really be done with Ronnie and Vincent, really think about this? This whole Ronnie becoming a villain I think is slightly over exaggerated. I don't think that she'll become a villain, I think that DTC is just adding a darker layer to her complex character. She can't really be distinguished as a villain any way, she's not causing trouble out of hate and spite, she's weirdly enough, doing it out of her love for others. E.g. The drug dealer for Dot and Carl White for Roxy.

So what is really going to happen with Ronnie? I have a strange feeling that she'll be part of a big Autumn storyline when Kathy comes back. I would suggest Christmas as well but Shabnam already has that booked I think. But will we see her and Charlie last or will there be an everlasting cat and mouse chase between her and Vincent?

Also, where is Matthew? Seemed to disappear with Denny and Bobby.

If anything, I would have loved to see a Post Natal Depression storyline with Ronnie and Matthew. I always wanted to her to have it after having James but we all know what happened there so...
Maybe her and Matthew won't bond? Will they be following that up? When you look at Ronnie's character, she's always wanted a baby more than anything else. Now that she has one, it's almost as if she doesn't care and that's so annoying. I feel like that have back tracked her character a bit.

Sorry for the rant guys...I think that revision has messed up my brain so everything must be said in one go.

The problem I have with Ronnie getting back with Charlie is the fact that I really detest Charlie and I can't see it changing anytime soon. If he realises now that he is in fact in love with Ronnie, that would make him in my eyes even more of a worm. Because that shows to me that when Ronnie was weak, and of no use to him he had no qualms about walking away from her, no regrets, no remorse nothing. Now that Ronnie is getting stronger, in a position to clean up his mess and stand up for her family and his (Dot), he no longer needs Roxy to look after him so turns to the stronger and cleverer of the two sisters.

I think this can potentially get quite nasty because if Ronnie is to plan a revenge on Charlie, he will probably use her confession to killing Carl to blackmail her.

As for Vincent, I like him with Ronnie ( past the repetitive scenes due to the confinement of Ronnie being in hospital), but being with Vincent will probably mean that they will take Ronnie down the villain route. But if I had to choose I would go with Vincent just because I have gone completely off Charlie and he would put me off Ronnie's scenes.

So I've just spent over an hour looking at old Ronnie and Jack clips. Makes me cry, I miss "Rack" so much. I still haven't really watched the baby swap properly and I probably never will. It still angers me that such a storyline exists. Did any of you guys watch the swap at all? Also does anyone have a link to a clip with Ronnie and Jack at Aunt Sam's? I can't find it anywhere...

I agree with the Charlie thing, most definitely. I think that I just want Ronnie to settle down really quickly because it's like the woman was born to be unhappy. And when she finally is, it's taken away so quickly.

Also, is anyone expecting another baby with Ronnie? Like I had a dream about Ronnie being pregnant (don't ask my why), and it made me wonder as to whether I was seeing a future storyline. But then again, Jack was there with her so...I doubt it's true. But can you imagine Ronnie pregnant with Vincent's baby? DTC loves his baby storylines...

I tend to never watch the baby swap episodes. They were horrible to watch first time around.

I have seen the new years episode when it all happened and I have seen when she went to Aunt Sal's and Roxy thought she was dead. I have also seen her last few episodes leading to her trial but all the other stuff is a big no no in any Ronnie re-watch.

I have most of her episodes on VHS including the Aunt Sal episode but have no method to transfer it on line.

Its ridiculous that Matthew is missing especially with Vincent making these threats she would be ensuring Matthew is safe and worrying about him more than Phil.

Also, with Ronnie, Charlie and Roxy at court, where was Matthew? With a stranger maybe? Dead in his cot?

Its just out of character for Ronnie not to even mention him. If the story was that Ronnie dismissed Matthew than fine but nothing is mentioned at all. He may aswell not exist! - its like they ricked a box - Expand the Cotton family for the next 30 years check, Give Ronnie a baby - check.

I want to come over and watch it!!!! LOOOL you clever person! I should have done that back in 2007?!?!? We use to do it for the stupid CBBC Christmas special stuff, which was idiotic because I have not seen that since. Ronnie on the other hand is someone that I could watch for hours on end.
I have seen her when her and Roxy are talking at Sal's, but I want to see the episode when Jack comes to pick her up.
To be honest, whenever I see some clips during the swap, mostly the Jan-Feb ones, I pretend that Ronnie had severe post natal depression (and I still think that would have been an awesome storyline to follow through with!!!).
I haven't seen the episode where Ronnie gives Tommy back, only 10 second clips of Ronnie telling Jacky that the baby isn't his, Ronnie telling Kat that she took her baby, Ronnie going into a police car and Kat slapping Ronnie. I watched the Trial and Ronnie and Jack's goodbye (started weeping in my bed when I saw it again this morning ). But yeah I've pretty much stayed away from it.

I may even go back to writing old fan fiction that I started years ago and just rewrite the whole storyline.


I think that Roxy mentioned Lola looking after Matthew, if not, I assume that Aunt Sal is around somewhere .

Yeah I know, it's quite out of character for Ronnie. I assumed that after the scene we saw in which she was finally holding Matthew, she would be all over him. Maybe even borderline obsessive/protective of him because her track record for surviving children is quite low.

What's so annoying is that DTC created Ronnie, so if anyone knows the character, he does!!! So I have no idea what is going on in his brain but I am not happy .

Following Vincent's threat the only people Ronnie would be worried about would be Mathew, Amy, Roxy and further afield Lola and Lexi.
As it happens they are not shown or mentioned at all.
Suddenly we are meant to think that Charlie is Ronnie's main concern. roll eyes

The scene with Ronnie and Matthew was incredibly cute and a scene that we have all been waiting for.

I am a bit confused as to why Ronnie is so desperate to get rid off Roxy because the last time we saw them together everything was going well between them considering that Roxy slept Charlie.

She feels threatened. Didn't you see her reaction when she found out that Matthew learnt to sit up by herself and how Roxy got to see it before she did? Also when Matthew started to cry and Roxy instantly offered to take him - it was Roxy unconsciously showing that she knew how to comfort him better than his own mother, simply because Ronnie hasn't been around to be his mum. She needs Roxy gone to gain back control of her family.

The way I see it is that DTC has made Ronnie out as someone who loves to eliminate the elements that make her less in control. If that means getting rid of someone, then she will do everything in her power to see that element out of her life. We've seen it time and time again actually, from the very beginning. Except now it seems to be the main trait of her character which is annoying because that's not what her character is all about. But oh well...

I feel like we needed more scenes with Ronnie, Roxy, Charlie and Matthew though, to show the development of Ronnie struggling with Matthew and becoming angrier and angrier with Roxy always coming to the rescue. Thoughts anyone?

It has also come to mind that Ronnie is also trying to protect Roxy from Vincent because she doesn't know what he is planning. The spoilers seem to suggest that as well.

For the first time I don't know what's going on with Ronnie and I'm not liking it much. Ronnie's head has always been a mess but we as the audience have always been in on what she's thinking if the other characters are not.

Whether I have liked some of the things in the past or not, I get why she did them (ie killed Carl for Roxy) but lately what is her motivation?

It seems shes jealous of Charlie and Roxy
She doesn't seem to care much about Matthew swearing on his life
How long has she actually known Vincent?
Has she forgiven Charlie?
Has she forgiven Roxy?
Does she really think Roxy is a slag? or just using her again?
Did she and Vincent have an affair?

We should know what Ronnie is thinking. We used to get scenes with just Ronnie and we would know what she was thinking.

It seemed in that last episode she was manipulating Roxy and now there is a real issue between them. Roxy saying at that stuff to Nancy. is Roxy playing Ronnie now?!

Does Ronnie just want Charlie so she can be with Matthew and manipulate just those two?
Is she manipulating Vincent and Kim to be with him?

As pleased as I am to see her out of hospital I am loosing interest completely. I don't like this malarkey of Ronnie/Charlie/Vincent/Roxy/Kim. I don't care about any of those couplings so it is all wasted on me. I have zero interest in anything to do with Carl White, Phil's rivalries or Ronnie the psychopath.
Ronnie is desperately missing Dot as she was in the recent years the person who would Ronnie open up to hence the audience's eyes and ears into Ronnie's head. Jack too at times was that person.

The one thing I care about is seeing Ronnie as a mother and we are not seeing it.
The tedious boredom of Vincent threatening Phil and Ronnie is set to continue and I have no interest in it whatsoever.
Shame that I have been waiting for years to see Ronnie have her child and is all ignored. Really disappointed with DTC.

I don't understand this truce. It makes no sense. We need more history to come out between Ronnie and Vincent to join the dots.

The only thing that I have to say about this is that I am disliking DTC more and more...

I can't make sense of it either. No idea what Vincent wants, why give him the Albert, what evidence does Vincent have, after all he gave Ronnie the gun.
I don't like it how Ronnie is forcing Phil to do things. Why is Phil going along with it?
It might look like a coherent story in DTC and Alex Lamb's eyes but not on screen.
And as for the spoiler and the dreaded love triangle I have no words.
Why are they continuing this rubbish. Why is Ronnie so desperate to keep that loser Charlie? Nothing rings true with the character.

The whole point of Ronnie was her tormented desire to be a mother. You'd think they'd make more of it onscreen now she's finally had one. Disappointing.

I think that I will definitely write a fanfiction, showing the way I wanted her character to develop. At least it'll give me something some thing to enjoy.

In other news, I was watching Random Ronnie Clips again, and I watched this one where Sean punched Ronnie??!?!! When was this?!!?! I don't remember it at all!?!?

I feel if they want controlling Ronnie then she should be keeping Mathew from Charlie and Roxy not the other way around. She seems more concerned about Roxy going after a fella who she doesn't even love who cheated on her.

I think its time to split the Mitchell Sisters up for a time.

In that Sam interview linked a view pages ago, Sam suggested that Ronnie was more Grant to Phil now. Maybe DTC felt with Ross Kemp not returning he felt Ronnie was best placed to fill that hole. The mad one to the calmer one. Grant never bossed Phil around as far as I can remember. Phil was always in charge.

It seems as if Ronnie 'tragic heroine' tag has been passed to Shirley and Linda and Ronnie is now a villain. Whilst you can sympathise with Ronnie at the moment the ore heartless and gangster the becomes the more hated and unrealistic she will become.

Honestly I have no sympathy for Shirley at all and I could only muster the average for Linda, simply because the storyline has lasted for far too long. Both of them do not reach Ronnie's level of the "tragic heroine" at all.

Sadly, it seems that Ronnie losing that level as well.

I really don't understand where DTC is going with this? Was she supposed to be with Vincent or not? Why the hell is Carl White being mentioned? Why isn't her relationship with Matthew being explored at all?

I did joke about Ronnie being the new Grant but if his is really the cse, DTC is going about it all wrong. Ronnie is really diminishing any form of character development here.
