Apologies for the lack of posting! I've still been reading the thread and have managed to keep fairly up to date with EastEnders (primarily Ronnie's storylines!)

I'm enjoying Ronnie's presence on the show much more again. She's definitely the most fearless character on the Square at the moment, and I'm glad they seem to be highlighting that regularly. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what's in store for her beyond New Year now. I do wonder whether Sam will be leaving soon though. I hope not as I still think she needs a defining storyline for this particular stint to match her initial era.

I often watch some clips from 2007 - 2010 (pre-baby swap in 2011). She's a great character at present, but she was absolutely fantastic during those years. Ronnie, Roxy, Peggy, Archie, Danielle... the best era bar none for me.

Welcome back Rose!

Yes its good to have Ronnie watchable again. I think she works when she's at the forefront of the show and shown to be tough. The emotional stuff with Matthew has been a flop though - and this is because we have never had any bonding scenes between them.

She does need a new story arc and I hope she doesn't die on Christmas Day (I'm sure she won't ) and it will be good to have Glenda back albeit for two episodes and how she deals with Roxy's ordeal. Maybe Roxy will appreciate how Ronnie has felt all her life now.

No doubt Roxy will blame Ronnie for it.

I just hope that there is no more attempted murders because that is what is killing her character. She can be 'bad' or 'evil' without wishing everyone dead. Even if shes accidently responsible for the Xmas death. I don't want that.

Sam has been back two years now so I'm sure she will do at least 1 more year - 10 years of the Mitchell Sisters in 2017. She can stay for that?!

Her duff duff count is at 94 so she needs to get to 100 before she goes too!!

Has there ever been any love for Ronnie on that site? The few vocal posters have a pathological hate for her regardless what the character does. I am sure that puts off any Ronnie fans to even bother posting.

I enjoyed Ronnie last week. We get these rare moments of greatness once a year. Hopefully we won't have to wait until Christmas 2016 for the next one.
Sometimes I think about registering again on there just to annoy everyone by telling them Ronnie is amazing but it would be a full time job defending her especially from one particular poster.

Fine to criticise Ronnie but they go too far and aim their venom at Sam's looks which is too much. Yet they don't have the same venom for other characters who have done crimes just as bad as Ronnie.

I like to find faults with my current favourite character because it shows how much you care about a character but if I don't like a character (Elaine, Sonia for example) then what is the point of slagging off the actor or taking the mick out of their looks?!

This is great for Ronnie!

I've been a firm believer that Ronnie works best independently, but I actually believe she needs Jack back in her life now due to the limited interaction with other characters across the Square (especially once Roxy takes a break). If they get back together (which I'm sure they will!), it won't be incomprehensible as I seem to remember that they parted on good terms; still deeply in love.

Let's hope this pushes Ronnie to the forefront next year! Amazing twist

Merry Christmas!

Where does Jack's return leave Ronnie? She is a very different character now to the woman he married, and she is a lot darker. Will they work as a couple?

Jack will break down the ice.

May take a while to chip away James, Carl, Roxy and Charlie, the coma, the rape, Danielle, the way she repeats her words....

They seem to have 'wrapped' up Carl now that the cops know so this can be a clean slate.

I just posted on another thread that Jack is probably what Ronnie needs right now. We never see her vulnerabilities anymore as she has no one to talk to. Ronnie's complexity comes alive when you see her walls come down and it gives context to her behaviour and actions.
Jack is the only person that can get her to open up, he is the audiences' eyes and ears into Ronnie's thoughts.
I am really looking forward to this.

Hello everyone!!

Sorry, I stayed away for a long while because this is an appreciation thread and I had nothing good to say, but I've been impressed with Ronnie this past week... Feel like the old Veronica is coming through.

Also, I did not expect the return of Jack!! But, I don't want Ronnie and Jack to get back together. They've danced that merry dance too many times. I just can't forget he has kids with her sister and cousin, and the fact their son died.
Too much IMO has gone on for them to work.

PS - Merry Christmas!

Right, now on to EE. JACK!!!!!!

Like I actually jumped from my bed and hit my head on something 😂. I reacted that much.

Having Jack around sort of made me reinvent my theory about Ronnie dying, especially with Glenda returning. But with Roxy being not being there and Ronnie present for Honey and Billy's engagement, that theory isn't valid, so I guess it's good bye to Fats! 😭

Why does Ronnie have to be responsible for Fat's death though? Its so annoying. That's what I hate about this forum at times - you will get people saying Ronnie murdered Fatboy when she didn't - it will be an accident (that's if this happens which seems likely given DTC loves twists).

DTC is gradually reunited everyone from 2010 when he left.

Back to the golden days of 2007 - 2010 Even Glenda is on her way back for an episode!

I was thinking about the possibility of Fatboy dying as a result of Ronnie's actions, and I really hope they don't go down that route! Looks as though they will though. It makes me wonder whether Jack may be another casualty tonight, especially if he gets involved to help Ronnie!

Merry Christmas everyone Hope you all have great days!

I know. My bet is that Ronnie will have the crushed, just like the Carl White. Honestly that's a horrible way for Fat Boy to die, especially seeing as that he's a decent character.

Supposedly, Jack is here to stay. I'm not sure how I feel about that seeing as DTC has made Ronnie this villainous killing machine. I hate how RACK was broken up with the babu swap too...I'm conflicted

How predictable was that episode

The only surprise was Vincent covering Fatboy's death to Ronnie - cos he knew his mum set Fatboy up.

What I hate is whilst Ronnie wanted Vincent dead, she did not know that Fatboy could have been in the boot whilst Claudette did. She set Ronnie up. A lot of people can't see this. Ronnie is a tragic figure - she will be devastated to know she killed Fatboy. What is going to happen is she will find out 5 seconds after shes happy for an episode next year.

DTC is just piling more misery onto her. I can see Ronnie killing Claudette next when she finds out.

Jack is weird. 5 minutes back and he is snogging Ronnie twice.

I agree, because not only will Ronnie realise that she killed someone who helped her and was completely innocent, she will also realise that she took another person away from Dot.

But I don't believe that Ronnie intended for the car to go to the scrap yard at all.

Ronnie and Jack, I have no idea what's going on

Also guys, answer me this please - does the whole square know that Archie raped Ronnie?

I was watching old clips of EE, and Michael was raging to Roxy and mentioned the rape, and I got super confused - I wasn't watching EE at the time.

Does everyone know? If so, how?

As far as I am aware - on screen - only Peggy, Roxy, Glenda and Jack know. Stacey probably has an inkling too when Ronnie said she "knows what is like".

No one else knows but I guess it's possible Jack told Michael and Roxy has told half the square.

Ahhh okay, thank you for replying .

How did everyone find tonight's episode?

I really liked the fluffy stuffy with Jack and Ronnie, with the proposal and both of them !looking at each other 😄.
I also found Billy proposing to Honey super cute, and the idea of Ronnie and Honey being friends. I actually think that she's what Ronnie needs, I always hated that Ronnie never had friends, and when it seemed that she was getting on, they never continued with it. Bianca, Kat, Stacey etc

Yeah I think Ronnie and Honey friendship will be good because they are so different. I'm so bored with Roxy so I am glad she is leaving for a short time.

The Jack/Ronnie scene was very similar to the cheesy scene in the vic when Ronnie and Charlie fell in love during Rebecca's music solo. But this ws less cheesy.

Its scenes like this when Ronnie is 'normal' just shows what a waste making her some gangsta killer is a stupid idea.

Just realised I hadn't posted since 30th Dec. Shows I have nothing to say about EE anymore!!

No sign of Ronnie or Jack in coming weeks. So I an continue to 'dip out' of the show. DTC's vision is crap. Too many retcons and just HOW SIMILAR are Kat and Ronnie now? First both raped by relatives, then babies at the same time, now both have had 'secret' children. Pile of steaming horse manure!!

oh by the way, was anyone else annoyed by Roxy's attitude towards Ronnie? I mean Roxy did not believe Ronnie was raped for decades plus, Ronnie has ALWAYS been there prior to that night and Roxy has NEVER been there for Ronnie!!

I think I am meant to feel sorry for Roxy but I didn't. She did something on her own. I mean so what!

Only Ronnie could so coldly say goodbye to her mum and Jack in one fell swoop the way she did :') She is literally the most damaged character I've ever seen!

Very intriguing!

I wonder whether perhaps Joel has died? Maybe he never got over Ronnie and asked Hannah to contact her after his death? Quite a random reappearance really!

I'm looking forward to both Jack and Roxy returning. I want the slightly more sane Ronnie from 2010 (pre-baby swap!) back.
