Roxy told Alfie to get him to help her to raise the £20,000 she needed to pay for Jack and Ronnie's wedding. Until that point Alfie coukdn't understand why Roxy wanted it to be so special for her sister. She explained that the only reason Archie didn't abuse her is because Ronnie stayed in the home to protect her until Roxy was old enough yo leave. The money was later stolen by Phil & Shirley.

Alfie told Kat everything I think? As there was a bonding scene between Ronnie and Kat. Their backgrounds being similar was deliberate in order to cement their friendship in readiness for the baby swap.

Ronnie is the most interesting character on the show right now. I started dipping in again since August for Kathy and the Mitchell sisters.

I don't like Ronnie but she fascinates me and holds my interest and that is down to Samantha Womack who portrays her so well.

I do wonder if the beginning of the end is coming and that Ronnie will leave in the next 1-2 years. Whether she intended to or not, she is an accessory to Fatboy's murder in the eyes of the law. With enough evidence shr would be convicted.

With Glenda's brief return promising more from her or Danny at some point. Jack coming back full time. Peggy's demise and now Joel's daughter showing up. All the strands from Ronnie's past are coming together.

Ronnie finally has a friend on the square, and she has found herself a friend in Honey.
I genuinely can't think of anyone better either. Honey will mellow Ronnie out big time!

I forgot to mention that I think you can add Phil and Shirley to Roxy, Glenda, Peggy, Jack, Kat, Alfie and possibly Stacey.

There was a scene back in November 2015 when Shirley arrived at Ronnie's to save Dean. Ronnie was going on about rape and Shirley said that she realised Ronnie had had a bad time but from now on she was to stay away from Dean. So, I got the feeling she knows otherwise she wouldn't of let Ronnie off so lightly for plotting to kill Dean.

Shirley wasn't exactly considered a member of the Mitchell family at the time the rape originally came out in July 2010. So, I am guessing either Roxy or Phil told Shirley somewhere along the way - if she does indeed know that is?

I wouldn't be shocked if Shirley does know through Phil? The Mitchells seem to tell each other everything. I remember just before Glenda left in March 2011, Ian tried to convince Jane that Glenda was unhinged (fearful Glenda was about to reveal their affair). I think Ian said Phil had told him Glenda had tried to kill herself in the past. If I remember correctly Glenda only told 3 people this on screen - Peggy, then Ronnie and finally Carole. So someone told Phil who told Ian.


If developed, it is an interesting turn of events and hopefully with Jack coming back as well, will move Ronnie in a new direction. I just hope that they are not planning a storyline where she becomes obsessed by Hannah? If the Metro is to be believed, the Hannah storyline is one to watch.

Yeah Ronnie and Honey will be weirdly awesome. I don't miss Roxy at all and actually hope she stays away from Ronnie for a long time.

Peggy dying is almost the end of an era. I am getting fed up of EE overall - apart from the Mitchell's. I do wonder how much longer Sam will stick around. I always thing July 17 (10 years) is when she will bow out - then I can quit watching EE for good!!

They seem to be wrapping up Ronnie's past. Not sure if there is a reason behind that or not.

I stopped watching in April 2012. When Ronnie returned I kept tabs on what she was up to. I started watching from August 2015. I only watch Kathy, the Mitchell scenes and some Beale family scenes outside of Kathy. The rest of the characters I find dredfully repetive or dullso just FF.

It's not just me then, who has noticed everything is coming together with Ronnie? I wonder if there is a point to it or whether it is coincidence? I've also noticed that excluding next week's developments with Honey, Ronnie has become quite isolated from the rest of the Mitchells. They have built up Phil's family unit, they have recreated Billy's family unit and then there is Ronnie and Roxy floating on their own. The only glue holding the different strands of the Mitchell family together is Peggy - and she is dying.

Phil certainly doesn't care about Roxy. He cares about Ronnie as much as he is capable of caring for anyone outside his immediate circle of family. Overall his relationship with Ronnie is based on respect and fear as she has brains but is also a loose canon.

Phil will always have use for Billy to do his dirty work.

I think you are right about 2017 being a key time for Ronnie to leave - assuming it is heading in that direction. We will have to wait and see how the next few months evolve? The Honey angle will embed her to a group of Mitchells if it is allowed to develop.

Unless Ronnie and Roxy will leave the series at the same time (I could imagine one killing the other with this being EastEnders); it is time for these characters to move away from each other and develop their own lives with the sisterly bond remaining but in the background. Roxy is always best when she is a comical part of a double act. But thst doesn't have to be Ronnie. I would like thme to bring back Glenda as I think they were starting to work well with each other back in 2011. Despite being a Daddy's Girl, Roxy is her mother's daughter without the class and brains. Trouble is, I don't think Glynis Barber could commit for more than a few months? Maybe this is where Danny will come in? A reinvented one could possibly be a good thing for Roxy?

I will stop watching or reading any spoilers when Ronnie goes for good.

Ronnie should have a storyline with her 13 month old son and have her friendship with Honey explored.

I don't know how Hannah's revenge can be a good storyline for her, but I reallly hope I'm surprised.

Not really interested in this Hannah storyline. I don't see what purpose it serves but I am hoping it will surprise me.
Loved Ronnie with Phil tonight. I have always enjoyed their scenes. Ronnie should be head of the Mitchells. I hope Phil remains living with Ronnie and Honey for the time being. I would like to see more of Ronnie when Peggy and Grant return.

Ronnie and Honey's friendship is genius. Honey is the calming balance Ronnie needs.

Thinking back I would think Michael knowing about Ronnie's history had something to do with the fact they were lining up a defence for Ronnie, which would have included what happened with Archie. Roxy probably had previously mentioned it to Michael, and he used it against her later. I can't really see Alfie or Kat feeling it would be relevant for Michael to know about it.

No, I don't think it's generally common knowledge(given that occasionally people don't even realize that she was in prison for kidnapping a baby or that she had a daughter that died) and those are things that were public happenings so fair game for anyone to know about.

Like it's been said, if Shirley knows then it's probably just through Phil.


I hadn't seen any EastEnders since the Spring until recently I did youtube viewing. I accidently came across a website called popjustice years ago even though I'm no pop music obsessive by any means - but they have an off topic and tv section and every so often I venture in there because the EE talk is generally on the entertaining side. It was suggested that Glenda should come back full time, but the response was that Glenda can't come back full time or else she'll end up revealing that she had an affair with Gavin and he's Ronnie's real father,,,which would make Ronnie and Sharon half siblings!

I liked the scenes last night but it felt thrown in with so much else going on with other characters. I assume Hannah is going to stalk Ronnie now.

Don't want Danny back either. He didn't work. They tried to copy the Mitchell Brothers and Sam with the Mitchell Sisters and Danny but it just didn't work. OK part of that was a lack of chemistry or acting from Liam whatisface. I'd rather he was forgotten about. I don't mind Glenda coming back though.

Its good Ronnie is supporting Phil. Most people on DS seem to hate Phil as hes bad. I mean WTF do people want episodes full of nicey nice Pam or Sonia?!!!

The Gavin thing is just a joke, I wasn't trying to suggest it's a possibility. It just made me laugh because of the whole DTC's 'thing' with making everything really inter - connected and dipping into established character's backstory's and adding/changing things.

I mean there's Kathy's husband being Sharon's bio father, and then Kat's 'Oops I had twins' storyline, and before that Shirley's 'I have extra baby trauma you didn't know about for 8 years!' before that.

Then there's the Hubbard's knowing everyone from decades ago. You'd think 20th century East London had been a small town the way everyone seems to knows each other. The retconning of Den's 'Hello Princess' being from Gavin....how much did that make some posters angry I wonder!? Bit of a bold idea, I was really surprised they did that. Yeah it's a small thing, but there's a small section of viewership who would probably be a bit offended by it. I am not a fan of it by the way, I really don't see any point of it other than the initial impact of "OMG he's Sharon's daddy!". I watched that clip just the other day and I was completely baffled until I searched online for an explanation.

I blame DTC for making me actually thing Sean was Kat's extra baby for about 5 minutes because I think within the context of all the crazy it was a legitimate thing to wonder!


I absolutely don't think there's any reason to speculate about Gavin, It was just an 'accurate' joke. I don't think it could be played very believably anyway(oh wait..does that matter). Even if that was a possibility, Glenda wouldn't know that to be a fact, she could only wonder As well as the fact Glenda was only supposed to have been around 19 when she had Ronnie, and her wedding to Archie may have been shot gun - maybe not a huge amount of time to have been conducting any affairs. Of course in the scene I watched the other day where Ronnie meets Gavin he mentioned she looks like Archie, so again no reason to think the idea of Gavin being anyone but Sharon's father had crossed any minds.

So here I am debating why a storyline that was never suggested as happening except for a joke as to why it wouldn't work.

On the topic of Gavin I wondered why they felt the need to connect Gavin to the Mitchell's, and I'm wondering if they get Glenda back for a stint if a Glenda/Gavin relationship could be a thing.

I never really minded the idea of a Danny return. I liked the idea of a the character(though like a lot of things in that storyline thread it would been more interesting for a secret son to turn up if Archie was alive at the time). Yeah I know he didn't turn out to be Archie's son, but I think that was a possibility left open in case the character didn't work out(which it didn't). I imagine originally Danny being Archie's son wasn't ruled out. i figured if the character ever returned, it would be with a new face. I don't know exactly what the point of it would be, but it always struck me as being overly soapy that Roxy and Ronnie never mentioned him again in the last 5 and a half years. I mean I know he caused a lot of a trouble but it was all a bit harsh really when he was trying to tell them how much Glenda mistreated him(which I believe). I just think if I had a little brother who'd grown up like that I might feel some obligation to try and help him somewhat. I don't really hold that against the sisters though because you know soap laws and all of that - currently not on screen or returning = equals doesn't exist right now.

As for this Hannah storyline. I actually don't mind it. It reminds me of the olden days of Ronnie storylines when little threads from her past would creep in. I may be completely wrong but I thought it was a good idea really. It is sort of way to bring up the more distant past of Ronnie's story rather than the more recent elements - but also without any sort of hamfisted 'Let's talk about Danielle!" way of doing it. I never would have expected we'd see one of Joel's daughters again, never even crossed my mind as an idea. Speaking of which - I remember her, Hannah -didn't recall her name though - she was the only one who was allowed any lines I think lol. I remember they had her come over for her birthday and Ronnie freaked her out by going into some trance like state talking about Danielle. I remember she got a bit of hate for that which I thought was a bit unfair because she didn't deliberately try and disturb a little girl, and in true EE fashion, all of Ronnie's family had utterly ignored her behaviour and it was freaking Joel who should have been you know noticing his ex - new girlfriend wasn't exactly in a fit state to be entertaining children and allowing his kids to be in that situation in the first place.

Ronnie and Phil are the only 2 characters in EE that interest me at the moment. I am very much a Phil fan.

They could still make Gavin Ronnie's father without Glenda because really Ronnie's Mum is Shirley Carter and Ronnie is Mick's twin...

All joking aside, I would hope that they would never muck around with Ronnie's paternity as it is so much of who she is about. It might be slightly interesting for Daddy's Girl Roxy to not be Archie's mind you.

Not seen any episodes since New Year because Ronnie hasn't been in it, so I need to catch up on the last week. Not sue what to think about re-visiting Joel? Will have to wait and see how it pans out.

I've only really seen 2 episodes with Danny in and they were his last 2. I know little about the character but I got the impression he was lying about Glenda because she backed out of scamming Roxy. She had told him she didn't want the money, she just wanted her daughters. He was furious. He physically abused her twice (once was coming close to sexual assult). He was going to do it a third time too!

Roxy believed Danny but when she went to throw out Glenda, she saw the bruises on Glenda's arm. Then Roxy told Danny to go but he turned on all of them and demanded a million pounds. That's why Glenda said Danny wasn't Archie's son to shut him up once and for all.

Fast forward to New Year's Day 2016 and they were still painting Danny as a manipulative bully even though he wasn't on screen. It was made very clear that he wanted Glenda to ask the girls something and because she hadn't done it, he wasn't pleased. She became quite defensive. It was at that point she got out Jack's wallet and as she took the money she told Danny "I will make it up to you..."

If I said in a previous post it would be good to have Danny back, then I have changed my mind as remembering New Year's Day makes me realise that the character of Danny has probably not progressed any.

I don't expect everyone to remember Joel as such but surely most people know who Danielle is and can put two and two together or do they need spoon feeding? Even the writer is a nitwit saying she needed to do research to find out.

I wasn't watching EE when Joel was in it, yet I know exactly who he was and what happened. It never ceases to amaze me how little people pay attention to what they watch and read. There are just too many examples on this forum alone to mention. I often wonder if I perhaps pay attention too much to every word - when it is something I am interested in?

All the indications are that he was and is a manipulating bully. Remembering the referencing to Danny from News Year's Day and other examples that indicated his word about Glenda could not be trusted, have persuaded me.

I mean WTF was tonight's Ronnie scenes all about? I enjoyed them with her trying to help Phil but they were rushed and badly edited and over in a second whilst we got repeated tedious scenes of Shirley and Dean and more Nancy and Tamwar nonsense.

I had a horrible feeling it is a filler. I'm still trying to understand the purpose of Ronnie's return. When Stacey came back she was horrible underused and I was worried, but then they gave her probably her best s/l yet.
Hoping something similar happens to Ronnie soon because I missed the Carl s/l, her war with Vincent lasted all of five minutes, her relationship with Charlie was a waste of time, Roxy isn't around and neither is Matthew so I would like to see her take on the head of the Mitchells role with great gusto.

I like Tamwar - he's also underused but don't think the mitchells should be sidelined for him.

Something to do whilst Ronnie is off screen again (shes in one episode later this week and that's all), vote for her to get through to round 3.

Can't say I am shocked to hear that DTC is leaving. It is unclear when. But we know from a recent interview he is storylining the beginning of August.

Anyway, it makes sense now why Ronnie's past and future are coming together. Clearly he wants to tell or influence Ronnie's story in a certain direction before he leaves. What do others think?

I am finding it harder and harder to vote as I hate so many of the characters. My husband and I do it together (as he has watched more EE than me over the years and knows the characters better than me). We decided we will continue all the while Ronnie is in it. We voted her number one this round.

I think it will either be a blessing or a curse. DTC could 'end' her story or take her into more of a psychopath.

But lets be honest, Ronnie under DTC's vision has not been very good. When we did get some nice scenes with Charlie and Matthew it was all ruined for an affair plot.

Maybe a new EP will see the greatness in her character? or he could get rid of Ronnie.

Sometimes I wish she had never come back. We are now entering a make or break phase for sure.

Ronnie has been very disappointing under DTC. I had very high hopes but it has been a let down. We hardly ever see Mathew and Ronnie as a mum. You see more of Kim with Pearl 😦 which is shocking considering that Ronnie's all essence was being a mum.

Well next week Jack is back and it seems almost obvious how that is going to play out reading the spoilers as we know Jack is back for good as a consequence.

So, if Ronnie gets a happy ending with Jack, what happens next? It's EastEnders - no one is allowed a happy ending! The whole spectre of Fatboy's death hanging over Ronnie, it's kind of waiting inevitably for it all to go wrong. We have been here before.

The only way I can see any happy ending for Ronnie is to leave with Jack. They belong together. However, Fatboy's death is a result of mostly Ronnie's actions. So I can see no happy ending.
