Did anyone see Sam and Mark on This Morning?
Not quite sure what to make of the interview... or the play. Neither looked overly comfortable to be there, although Sam was very polite. On paper I am not keen on this play anyway or Sam playing with Mark, so not really enthusiastic about this. ![]() ![]() I want her to do something different. |

It came to my attention that Danielle died 4 years ago in April. Where the heck has time gone? She would have been 24 this year too.
![]() That would have been four years of happiness for Veronica. Too much for EE?

Can you imagine it - Danielle dating Joey and Derek having words with Ronnie. No No NO! - In retrospect seeing how bad the show is now, I'm glad they killed Danielle off!
Looks like Sam is going to have another decade out of the limelight! - She'll be 50 when she turns up in the next high profile role! |

Barf ![]() I am very glad neither are in the show in it's "current state" but I do spot potential s/l opportunities for them both. |

Such an over dramatic article. Have people read the full article in New magazine? I started reading and cringed at the title about her battling with mental health issues. Sam says she's struggled with anxiety/nerves on stage not bloody mental health, everyone has anxiety at some stage in their life it doesn't mean we've all battled mental health. It is such an annoying article as you can imagine what Sam said and what they've made it in to. It's cute how she talks about managing being a mum and being on stage and how she's kept in contact with members of the cast, but I think they ruined the article by over dramatising it to a point which is daft. Sam's mentioned in other interviews about her nerves and how she had to get Dan etc to stand by the curtains to give her more confidence and you didn't see those articles turning it into "soap star battles mental health" I bet Sam's cringing. About her returning to Eastenders I hope she stays away from that option for as long as possible as right now the show is horrendous. The storylines don't make sense half the time and the characters personalities seem to change with each episode. Very poor writing in my opinion to what it was like when Sam entered in 2007 through to the Archie storyline. |

I think she was probably asked the usual "Would you return to EE" and she said "Yes of course I would". I don't think she made any indication that she would return soon just "one day". Even Ross Kemp says "never say never".
If she did return in 2013, it would be a dramatic Christmas storyline. She helped the show out of a dull spell in 2007 and can do it again. The show needs a character like her. |

After hearing about Scott (Jack) departing from Eastenders, would you guys like to see Ronnie return for his exit or would you rather see her return full time?

Difficult because I would rather Ronnie's return wasn't restricted because any further appearances would have to mention Jack or splitting up with him again to move back to the square with Roxy etc..
If Sam never wants to come back full time then I think a storyline of her return from prison would be good - maybe shes given arough time by the locals and has to leave for Ibiza and Jack agrees to go with her. If Sam wanted to go back full time at some stage then I would rather she didn't and Jack was killed off so there is never the chance to bring them back together. |

That door closed long ago, I see no point of it being reopened. I'd prefer her to return on her own terms. Full time/part time, I don't mind. |

I watched some of last nights episode and it confirmed that I don;t want Ronnie to be part of Jack's exit - with Jack saying he "loved" sharon. He hardly knows her. I'm not saying he can't move on from Ronnie because he has to but it just seems false and pathetic.
Ronnie can come back for Jack's funeral! |

Ronnie can come back for Jack's funeral! Ronnie leaving with Jack would be a damp squib and Sam deserves better. I do not want her as some sidewoman to Jack's exit no thanks. |

I watched a few episodes from 2010 yesterday. Considering they were BK episodes they weren't that bad. The first one I watched was where Peggy finally learns the truth about Archie in the R&R toliets. Although at the time I was annoyed it took Peggy so long to get it through her thick head, I quite enjoyed the episodes this time. Sam's acting is fantastic in that scene she finds out Glenda knew about it all along.
I also saw teh episodes where the R&R catches fire and she decsides not to dob Billy in to claim the insurance. Ronnie really had a heart which is missing from all the other Mitchells (well maybe Billy in his post hitting Jamie days!). You'd never see Phil, Peggy or Roxy doing anything so nice. |

I could never see Roxy doing what Ronnie did. She is too self centred for that. As for the rape reveal, the episode was great because Ronnie (Sam) and Phil (Steve) which were the storylines running in those episodes were fantastic, they played a blinder. What I hated about the way the storyline was handled amongst other things was how Kirkwood made a mess of Glenda's position. In previous episodes in July, Glenda said that looking back the signs were there but she never knew anything. Which I think made so much more sense then how things were confused when in later episodes she supposedly knew. I never quite got what Glenda was meant to have known or not known. Mind you I think the producer and the writers themselves knew what they ere trying to say. Things made no sense and changed from one episode to the next including the characterization. |

That is why Ronnie was a great character. She was multilayered, flawed yes, but with a heart too.

I think the story got lost in the change of EP. DTC was still around but I felt BK wanted that storyline over as soon as possible so he could move Ronnie into position for the baby swap storyline. I can't believe I'm here 2 years later still talking about Ronnie but she was such a great character on teh show and is missed so much. I never talk this much about an old character despite watching EE for 26 years. |

I agree - Glenda was all over the place. At first she was a money grabbing bitch and it was Danny that looked like he was teh one that wanted "the family" - then they made that random storyl of Danny giving Glenda those bruises and I was like WTF? - I think when the axed Danny it was the only way they could write him out but it was too inconsistamt. Glenda was then the good guy. Then as you say they changed whether she knew or felt that something was wrong with Ronnie and Archie.

Considering that I am unlikely to watch it regularly, or not at all anymore, (unless Ronnie was to return), I know that no other character will come close to her. I was reading the episode thread and apparently there was a Ronnie mention last night. ![]() And apparently there was an article and spoilers that
Spoiler
I am surprised the writers have remembered her existence considering their track record of awful consistency of the last 3 years and the contrived Jack and Sharon pairing. |

yeah Tanya mentioned her in one episode saying all that stuff with Ronnie and the baby and then last night Sharon asked Jack "What was Ronnie like?"
Jack came up with the usual rubbish that she Sharon was more stronger and that Sharon was just as beautiful as her (IMO Sam is more prettier than Letita). Then as you say I saw the report that Jack contacts Ronnie in prison (which is the only reason I watched last night). I would love it if they secretly film Jack seeing Ronnie in prison and talk about her release. Don't think it would happen but they do seem to be leaning towards Jack leaving with Ronnie (Maybe they have already agreed with Sam that she will return for a guest stint later in the year - we just don't know yet). Why bother mentioning her again? Like you say they have ignored her existance for 2 years - Roxy never mentions her! |

I know. I have a feeling that Jack's exit would be linked with Ronnie. Maybe they won't have her return but he may leave Walford to be with Ronnie kind of thing. Like you say The_abbott, why mention her otherwise, especially if they had forgotten about her existence so far. Correct me if I am wrong, but they didn't even mention her on the anniversary of James' death, nor any mention from Roxy.
![]() As for Jack saying to Sharon that she is as beautiful as Ronnie, I would be really surprised if he really meant it, nor believed it. He probably said it to reassure Sharon after she asked him about Ronnie and also to avoid talking about Ronnie. He was obsessed with Ronnie to the point where it was unhealthy. I too think that Sam is naturally beautiful and much prettier than Letitia. But even if Sam/Ronnie wasn’t prettier than Letitia/Sharon, like they say, the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. So no woman will compare to Ronnie as far as Jack is concerned. |

Sam's latest project ![]() http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s2/ea...-pleasant.html I'll have to start watching this show now. It will be werid seeing Sam in a comedy again. Unless the possible musical later in the year is to divert attention from a return, I don't think she will be back on EE any time soon. I guess the best we can expect now is a one off appearance when Jack or Roxy leave. No permanent stint on the show again. |

strange that she says shes less comfortable in front of a camera these days - which would suggest that she may quit TV soon.I'll have to start watching this show now. It will be werid seeing Sam in a comedy again.

It wouldn’t surprise me if her and Mark weren’t thinking of creating their own company. I can not see Mark being stomped with offers and Sam may find it hard too to some degree considering that she has to be much more selective these days, the job market is tough etc. As talented as she is, the roles are probably quite limited due to budget restraints, competitive market with so many actors looking for jobs, age restrictions, and if you add things like no nudity, no long hrs, or whatever, it limits it even more. |

BIB: I wonder whether it has something to do with how it makes her children feel. She has mentioned Ben being uncomfortable with her wearing certain clothes and of course the whole thing with Scott at the beginning, so maybe that plays a part on how nervous and aware of the camera she is these days.

Well if she did want to start working behind the camera she could easily start off by directing a couple of Eastenders (Susan Tully - Michelle did when she started directing) I hope shes on TV for at least another 10 years because she won't be an old looking 50 year old will she ![]() She is doing that charity thing so she can't be hard up but you'd think she will want a nest egg for her children - maybe she will start up a company. I mean she must have got 250,000 or more a year on Eastenders. I can't see EE paying that much any more. I think thats why many stars have quit. It's not worth the money with the pressure some of teh stars get and your tied down to a show. |
