I know it is ridiculous but I can’t help feel sorry for these two. They have both hurt each other but are both loners and love each other so much.

I know the whole Jerry Springer aspect and that, which is all down to B.K, but even off screen these two will always be in each other’s life due to Amy. The way they are written as the love of each other’s life, you can imagine them meeting for Amy’s birthday for example, it will always be just a matter of time before they fall into each other’s arms. I don’t think either of them would be in another relationship where they would love their partner/spouse like they love each other.
In the context of these spoilers and development this time round it is all futile as we know Jack is leaving so this doesn’t mean anything in the long term.

I think if Sam doesn't come back after the 6 mnonths then they will just have her meet Jack in [Enter random country here]

I also think her long term future depends on Rita. If Rita quits then Sam won't bother staying on. I think Rita will be around for a long time but Scott suprrised me by quitting so you never know.

Ronnie can survive without Roxy/Jack but I'm not sure Sam will want to stay on the show without both of them.

Loved it when Ronnie saw Michael and her reaction was priceless. She called Lola "girly" - where have I heard that from Ronnie before?

Carl V's Ronnie - you can tell she's preparing herself and building up the strength. Loved the "Game On" reference at the club.

Ronnie owned Sharon in their scene together - I can see these two becoming friends soon.

WTF was the Liam scene all about "great to have you back Ronnie". The Editor cuts away quickly...

Yeah, another good episode tonight (well, I just impatiently wait for the Ronnie scenes!). Great to see the fire (or should that be ice?) back in her eyes, especially when it comes to taking on Carl. I hope she really gives him a run for his money.

The Ronnie/Sharon scenes were entertaining. To me, Ronnie appeared to be quite civil!

Yeah, the Ronnie/Liam scene was quite random but Liam is certainly in my good books now.

Looking forward to next week. I still have to pinch myself that she's back!!

Ronnie being civil to Sharon - this is why I think will lead to a friendship

I always remember DTC or Diederick Santer saying the same about Ronnie/Roxy too - ice/fire. That's always stuck with me. Speaking of DTC, I'm really looking forward to seeing what he has planned for both Ronnie and Roxy. I believe they are in safe hands!

Couldn't agree more with the feeling that she's never been away. I think her presence has always been there in some shape or form over the past two years, particularly with Roxy and Jack still living in the square. She's slotted back in effortlessly.

I like how this week has explored different parts of Ronnie by treating us to shades of 2007/2008 Ronnie as well as preserving the more vulnerable 2011 Ronnie (but only in small doses). I'm really eager to explore Ronnie's new character but I suspect this will develop over the next few weeks/months.

I think I enjoyed Ronnie most during the 2009 - 2010 period as she had softened slightly but still had that hard edge to her.

Loved Ronnie standing up for herself I hope she continues to take no crap from anyone.

The chemistry between her and Jack is off the scale!. He had zero chemistry with Sharon.

I have loved Ronnie’s first week. It has been fantastic. I must admit that the other storylines didn’t hold my interest much so I was always waiting for Ronnie’s scene. But some of the reason for it would be because I haven’t watched them perhaps so it will take time.

I loved Ronnie’s scene with Sharon and how she held her own; “ You have wrecked a few marriages in your time so don’t expect me to take the violins out anytime soon”

To some degree I like the idea of Sharon being friends with Ronnie but I am not sure how much scope there is for it. We all know that Ron doesn’t do friends and her only friend is Roxy. Once this Alfie tripe is over I want to see Ronnie and Roxy together and if there are any plans to bring Sharon and Ronnie closer I don’t want it to be at the detriment of Roxy.

Had to stay away from here for a few days while I caught up on EE.

Really impressed overall with her return. Veronica still has fire in her belly and Phil helped her ignite it.
She still has a weak moments and you can see she is still conflicted, fighting with doing what is right and what she wants to do, but she will get there.

I really wish Ronnie & Jack didn't fall into each others arms so quickly. I wanted it to be much slower. The gentle talking "we had a son together" was so sweet and I would have liked for them to have talked a little more before falling into bed but hey, lust is obviously stronger with them two.
I know people dig Rack, but I don't and I did fist pump when Ronnie told Jack to stay away from her when he got too close.

Bring on week two!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm so glad it's Monday! I can't wait to see more of Ronnie. This week should be good. We have scenes with Ronnie/Lola/Lexi tonight and then scenes with Ronnie and Roxy tomorrow!

For the first time in possibly 3 years I had the EE omnibus in the background on Sunday and my friend who doesn’t watch EE, has no idea who Ronnie or Sam is, and has only been in the country for a few years (university degree) came to visit. Ronnie was in the background and my friend said:

Who is this actress: She is beautiful and has so much screen presence

This was during the scenes with Sharon and Carl.

I don't think another actress could have played Ronnie so well because if you aren't able to 'read' Ronnie then you will lose a lot about her character.

If Sam was 'just good looking' like a female Callum Monks she would have only lasted a year or so. Ronnie could be in Eastenders for ever because there is so much about her.

Compare Ronnie to Alfie who, IMO Aflie fans would probably disagee, has nowhere else to go since Nana dies and he had his 'perfect exit'

Thats why I'm glad Jack and Ronnie are not leaving together because that would be one of her many 'natural exits' .

If Ronnie had been played by another actress she wouldn’t have lasted until now, or been such a popular character. Let alone be able to return to EE after the most controversial storyline ever, where she was supposed to be the bad guy, the criminal, yet still evoke so much empathy amongst viewers and be welcomed with open arms. Not forgetting that prior to that they wrote her out of character with the Sam Mtichell c*p. As if Ronnie would be the one to send a child away from a parent.

To have been involved in a storyline where you kidnap the child of another woman and to emerge out of it as the biggest victim of it all, even for the average viewer who doesn’t spend their time analysing the character, shows great skill and Sam has absolutely nailed Ronnie’s character.

DTC was right from the onset when not only he created Ronnie, but he did so with Sam in mind and wanted her to play Ronnie. Now all of us see why.
That is why I trust that if Sam decides to stay beyond the 6 months the man would write her really well.

I expect the usual “Ronnie Mitchell” show brigade complaining about any storylines that she would have, but she gets the storylines for a reason and that is because Sam pulls them off.

I was so pleased when I read that Sam was joining because I loved Game On. I was less than impressed by the "Mitchell Sisters" idea at the time but I was proved wrong.

I keep defending that issue that Ronnie get all the big stories but there is a reason they choose the same characters - because they deliver. I like Rita but I sometimes think she's not quite strong enough to pull off a major storyline on her own - never could Scott.

They have there Stacey 2.0 in Lauren but there isn't a Ronnie replacement because you can't replace her - well I guess Michael is similar but he's leaving!

I hope DTC can keep Sam on and they have already discussed it on his first day. I picture that he met with all the top stars on his first day *so no Fatboy/Dexter etc..*. I trust DTC to come up with a new arc for Ronnie and it will be just as amazing - but get Sam to sign at least 2 years so the story can run a decent length and past the 30th anniversary.

I sometimes feel they had more mileage with Archie and he was brought back way too soon after the Danielle reveal just so they had a decent Xmas whodunit and we would never had Glenda who I like also.

It says a lot that Sam herself said that if she was in charge she would want to do a flashback to her and Archie before Ronnie joined in 2007. That shows how much she liked that storyline.

It's kind of "funny" seeing the reaction to Ronnie.
Mid baby-swap, a lot of people were done with the character and fair enough.
Then some attacked Sam for "only doing" a musical when she left.
And even some said "good riddance" to both the character and the actress.

Now, I've barely seen a bad word said about her. Incredible.

Todays episode was a let down - apart from the Ronnie material but that was badly hacked apart. I was expecting more from the Lola/Ronnie scene. I know Jean was the main story today but Kat ruined that storyline by shouting her mouth off.

Agreed. I love Jean and I am glad she is getting a good send off, cos I think Gillian is just fantastic.

But yeah, I was expecting more from Ronnie/Lola too. My breath caught in my chest and my eyes watered when Ronnie jumped up scared when Lola and Billy walked in. And then the scene just ended with Ronnie walking off.
I kinda hope it picks up tomorrow although I wouldn't bank on it.

Yeah I was disappointed too that the scene with Ronnie and Lola was so short. Going by the spoilers I thought it was going to be longer. But Sam is so good though, showing the unhinged Ronnie in those few seconds. It is so great to have her back. A bit like Rose-Addict, I too can't believe it she is back for real.
