Ronnie killed me tonight. Her first scene with Jack was lovely. I loved her little smile. It was almost like Ronnie had some hope back in her life. I hope Jack doesn't hurt her.

The scene with Lola and Lexi broke my heart. Sam really is an amazing actress.

Sorry for the random post and I definitely do not belong in this thread as I have been particularly venomous about Ronnie in the past but I've got to say I have loved her this past week. After Kat she may be my current favourite character actually. I cannot believe I am saying that and I now wish she was sticking around permanently.

I know I was surprised to go on you tube (looking for something else) and just out of curiosity searched for Ronnie/Sam and all these clips came up. There were others which I didn’t post as I thought there would be too many links here.
I don’t even remember a time when there were so many Sam clips related to different things, shows she has done, charity work, promotions all since she left EE. She really has been busy.

That is so good to hear. It is easy for us fans to get overexcited and perhaps overlook how things are with her return, but if other viewers like yourself who at one point were sick to death with Ronnie, are feeling positive about her, it means that her return is very promising and she is finally being written well. I thought B.K's vision and lack of grasp of Ronnie's character was a disaster for her and I honestly believe that if there was a bit of saving done towards the end, it was all due to Sam speaking up and having some say in it. And I can't believe I am saying this, but thank God for mumsnet to play a part in putting that storyline to bed sooner rather than later. If you look at the posts, especially in this board, before the babyswap storyline even aired, we were all saying how terrible it was and so out of character and that really proved to be the case.



Totally and not only from what we have seen last week and yesterday but also from Sam's interviews it seems like it will be the 2007-2009 Ronnie that has come back. I think what has happened is that the majority of people loved 2007 -2009 Ronnie, especially since 2008 (Archie’s introduction, Weymouth episodes onwards. But then forgot how good she was as a character and who can blame them, after the pile of misery thrown on her within a ridiculously short space of time. Now that they are writing her as she was, the character that she was intended to be, people are being reminded of her early days.

I really hope DTC will think of an interesting story arc for her once the baby swap closure part of her character is kind of over.


I am interested to see Ronnie and Lola’s relationship. Lola will resonate a lot with Danielle for Ronnie and I am sure we will see Ronnie’s maternal side with Lola soon. If you think about it, Danielle too would have been a single mum with a young baby. The way Ronnie smiled at Lola on Friday and called her girly tells me that there will be warmth between these two. Danielle Harold is a promising actress I think and Sam has said that she likes her.

I agree, I think Ronnie will see Danielle in Lola. I agree she is beautiful in those interviews.

Really annoyed by tonights episode, whilst the Ronnie scenes were amazing as always especially the R&R reunion at the end I felt like the editor saw her scenes as in the way and cut to ribbans. Where was the scene where Michael talks to Carl about Ronnie being manipulative? Where was the scene set up between Carl and Ronnie with him meeting her?

Roxy was pushed aside for the main plot too. I know they wanted to give Jean as much time as possible but the Ian/Jean scene dragged out for too long IMO!

Enjoyed Ronnie's scenes tonight, particularly when she stood up to Carl. She's a lot more fearsome than the latter, that's for sure!

The Ronnie/Roxy reunion glimpse was beautiful too - it's always been about those two in my eyes! Oh, and Ronnie/Dot too.

Looking forward to more Ronnie on Thursday.

Thank you for being honest and sharing your thoughts. It is lovely to see other viewers pleased to see her back.
Some of us fans came close to despairing of the character towards her last arc and it's understandable why people did become venomous.
I do hope things will go onward and upwards for the character.

Tonight's scenes were short and sweet. And sweet they were.
Both Ronnie and Roxy saying they weren't okay and about to cry. Sisters reunited.

Have to say, I think the character of Kat has much improved since Ronnie's last appearance too. I know she had yet another affair but she's slowly coming back to the Kat I loved during the first stint.
Her scenes with Ronnie were incredible, Jessie and Sam bounced off each other really well. Both told their characters stories by doing so little.
I know it's never going to happen, but I would love it for them to be friends. Had the baby swap not have happened, they would have been I'm sure.
They already had that connection when they were pregnant, and I was rooting for their friendship then.

Both characters have come a long way and I really do hope they can heal.

BIB - That made me smile ridiculously. Reminded me of how Ronnie used to be. She's always been a warm person underneath but she lost it during the baby swap. It will be exciting to see that shine completely through again.

I do like Danielle Harold, I wish the character didn't mouth off so much, maybe Ronnie can tame her?

If they made a spin off called RonnieEnders - I'd watch. The problem is EE is an ensemble show and some of the plots make you look at the clock to hurry on to the next Ronnie scene!

I adored the Ronnie/Roxy scene last night. These two have the best chemistry. I hope we get to see a lot more of them together now!

Shes in the rest of this week and definately on Mondays episode but shes absent on 24th Sept and with David returning on Thursday I can't see her appearing in these either. Shes only back for 6 months she should be in every episode

I agree. If it is a choice between Sharon and Kat I would rather Ronnie was friends with Kat. Jessie and Sam are both great actresses and their scenes are bound to be great.

As for Sharon I don’t know whether Ron knows anything about Sharon throwing Ron’s stuff away when she was with Jack. Obviously I don’t expect this to be addressed as it is silly and not important at all, just saying.

I suppose she will make a decision about her contract pretty soon as they need to plan storylines in advance and I am sure DTC will need to know. I don’t think it will be a case of letting the 6 months come to an end before Sam makes a decision. It will be way before that.

I think she will leave temporarly even if she extends the contract because she may want to squeeze another project in the middle. Say she leaves on screen in Feb, she might be back in July (having filmed more mount pleasant for example) but her next contract needs to be at least 2 years so they can sort out a story arc for her

I hope DTC secretly reads this thread cos we talk sense in this thread and are not bias towards Ronnie at all

Yeah I can see her leaving in February regardless as to whether she plans to come back or not. But if she is planning to return she will need to confirm before then anyway, as they need to know regarding storyline arcs, so here is hoping we will know something before the 6 months are over.

I have a feeling DTC in particular is known to have long storyline arcs for the characters. At least when it came to Ronnie they did, and also with Bianca’s return, the whole thing about Tonny and Whitney, Lucas, Stacey’s bipolar.
We may not hear anything until the end of the year though.

Unless Sam goes off to do something like be the new Dr who girl with Capaldi assuming Jenna leaves at the end of Series 8, I am sure she can fit in relatively small projects like Mount Pleasant in between EE scheduling.

EE is convenient for Sam because she won’t have to worry about child care and it is regular income. She talked in one of the interviews I posted the other day about the logistics of child care when her and Mark were both away in Liverpool and how it was hard to leave the children, especially Lily who apparently is such a mummy’s girl.
Any other work is unpredictable and you don’t have much control over location, length of time you have to be away etc.
