Basically, her new song with Maroon 5 called Moves Like Jagger, has been released today, and it's #2 on iTunes.

Her previous album didn't do very well, but now she's on what is currently the 2nd most popular song in the UK.

Moves Like Jagger is arguably the most popular song in the world at the moment. Does anybody think Christina's comeback era could be quite big?

She clearly is still relevent (a little bit ), since she sings a verse on a song that is currently popular, not only in the UK, but all over the globe.

I don't really this gives any indication of how well her comeback will do seeing as she's only in the song for about 30 seconds and her part could easily be taken out of the song. I think most of the people buying it just simply like the song or are Maroon 5 fans!

I love Christina, but I think this is probably more of a comeback for Maroon 5. Either way, I love both Christina and Maroon 5 so glad to see Moves Like Jagger doing so well!

It makes me think of Rihanna really.

She had her Rated R era. Didn't go as badly as Bionic, and he had one absolutely massive hit from it (Rude Boy), but it did really poorly compared to her previous album.

But then she did Love the Way You Lie with Eminem. Like with Christina on Moves Like Jagger, Rihanna didn't have an enourmous part in the song, but I think Love the Way You Lie was a big part of the reason why Rihanna's comeback with Only Girl was so huge. I know Only Girl is a very good song, but it's almost sold a million now, and she's have very good songs in the past which weren't quite that successful.

Obviously though, Moves Like Jagger won't be as big as Love the Way You Lie, but it could have a similar effect to Christina, just a little bit smaller.

Isn't it Maroon 5's song which features her? Not the other way round, she's barely in it.

Christina Aguilera is in a guest slot on the biggest song on the planet at the moment.

She's on the song. It gets counted on her discography. If it gets to #1 in any countries, it counts as a #1 for her.

Christina is at #2 on iTunes. It's official. The song gets credited to her as well as Maroon 5.

It's weird to think Moves Like Jagger could peak at #3 like Born This Way!

Um, from this website:

http://www.livepopbars.com/index.php?Region=0&Chart=34

This website takes the LIVE iTunes charts from all around the world and merges them. The current top 10 is:

1. Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger
2. Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
3. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
4. Bad Meets Evil/Bruno Mars - Lighters
5. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night
6. LMFAO/Lauren Bennet/Goonrock - Party Rock Antehm
7. Pitbull/Ne-Yo/Afrojack/Nayer - Give Me Everything
8. Drake - Headlines
9. Adele - Rolling in the Deep
10. Brintey Spears - I Wanna Go

To be fair, this is just counting the iTunes sales though. But Chrstina Aguilera sings on the best-selling song on iTunes IN THE WORLD at the moment.

Nice to see Britney Spears in the top 10 aswell. Nobody likes her in the UK anymore, but she's still popular around the world.

It's weird to me because Lady Gaga seems so popular compared to Christina Aguilera, and Lady Gaga's song had been really hyped up, and all the radio stations rushed to play the song the second it was released.

Are you not surprised by Christina Aguilera potentially getting another top 5 hit this week? Do you think she's as popular as Lady Gaga?

It's Maroon 5 FEATURING Christina so you probably should've included that in the title...!

I'll admit, I only specified Christina Aguilera because I wanted people to read the thread...

But yes, you're correct.

Although I'm correct too, but I did deliberately word it in a misleading way to shock people. But she is #2 on iTunes.

Surprised, well not really as I think she has reached her peak, to see Lady Gaga isn't here.

It isnt really a Christina song though, its Maroon 5 through and through. I agree that it is brilliant though.

Okay, I'm not really a fan of Lady Gaga.

But, I'll admit, I check that site quite frequently, and Lady Gaga has nearly always been in the top 10 since Born This Way.

At one point she had 4 songs in the top 10 at the same time!

it's just now The Edge of Glory is dieing in popularity, and her next single, You and I, hasn't started to take off in most countries yet.

I'm not taking anything away from Maroon 5, obviously this is predominantly their song.

But I know that alot of people that have bought the song are Christina fans. Without her feature on the song, I really don't think it would be doing as well.

Also, if the song had flopped, I'm sure there's plenty of people who would have been quick to say "that new CHRISTINA song flopped!! Hahaha!"

She should be given credit where credit is due.

It hasn't officially been released yet.

It hasn't officially been released yet.
But it can be downloaded from her album. It went top 10 in the US a couple of months ago, and it charted top 100 in the UK already.

EDIT: Check here, it charted at #89 back in June in the UK: http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?week=20110604

People could buy it if they wanted. Some songs have even got to #1 before being officially released. Like What's My Name? and Airplanes did last year.

Maroon 5 have been more successful than Christina Aguilera in the last few years; it makes more sense to suggest that she is successful because of them.

I don't think the song is successful because of either of them, actually. I think people just like the song.

To be fair I'd say it's more Maroon 5 who's at no.2 and not Xtina..

She barely features on the song, and I'd certainly still like it without her input even though I like Xtina!

Definitely more of a "big comeback" for Maroon 5 I'd say... their last album did pretty badly compared to the previous two, and the lead single also charted poorly from what I remember. Although they're a good band I thought their hitmaking days were long gone - so glad to be proved wrong!
