I quite like Miley Cyrus.
![]() I admire her willingness to always sing live, I've never seen her mime. She also has quite an alluring stage presence. My daughter loves her ergo I have to listen to a lot of her music. Saw her live in Manchester. I was rather impressed to be honest. She has some cracking songs as well. Driveway, Full Circle, Take Me Along, When I Look At You. She takes a lot of grief but I'd sooner watch Miley than talent vacuum Rihanna any day. |

I can't stand her, but I do rather adore Look At You. And the film that song's from.

I like miley
Great stage presence, good songs and her albums are good People are always looking for ways to moan about her now she is growing up and slightly leaning out of the Disney Darling phase. |

I love Miley. Especially Butterfly Fly Away, When I Look At You, I Hope You Find It, The Climb, Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go, Goodbye, I Learned From You, See You Again, Party In The USA, Fly On The Wall, 7 Things. Ok so basically everything. And some of the ones she sung on Hannah Montana.
Oh and I agree. From videos I've watched of her singing they've always been live, she doesn't always sound the best at least shes sings live unlike some people. & she does sound good on a lot of live performances I've heard. |

^Oh, and I like Party In The USA. I have no problem with her dressing a bit older, smoking, or any of that stuff, I just find her irritating.

I am a big fan of her catchy music...
Not a huge fan of her acting. I only know about that Disney show she was in. It wasn't great. |

bump!
![]() I was going to set up a new thread, but no need, because miley's been feeling the love from ds since '011. miley's certainly changed a lot since then, so what can i say? its '013 and b**ch has arrived.![]() hopefully, i am not the only poster in need of a positive place to discuss miley, away from the hysterical cries from the main boards calling for an end to all the controversy and from the ott feigned alarmists "will somebody please think of the connotations" brigade. anyone got "bangerz" yet? aside from the flawless singles so far, my early favourites are "4x4", "sms (bangerz)", "fu", "#getitright" and even the slower tracks "adore you", "my darlin" and "drive" take some beating. ok, so its not album of the year material, but its fun nonetheless and she certainly knows how to create a media frenzy.![]() anyone else impressed? no hateful comments plz, fun comments welcome, this is our house, this is our rules.

I actually haven't heard her recent album, but I actually like her voice on some of her earlier records. Her voice is cool and unique.
But mostly I want to show support because I feel the criticism of her is way over the top and hypocritical. She is just trying to find her place in the world and trying different things. Most of the people who rip her to shreds have also done very sexual things in photographs and videos. Anytime the media gangs up on someone, I immediately sympathize with that person. I guess I can't stop routing for the underdog. |

well colour me surprised, a trio of madonna fans are leading the tributes for miley here over the past day.
personally, i find myself naturally drawn to controversial females and both madonna and miley certainly tick that box for me.i agree with your comments gigi about the double standards in terms of the people that have criticised her and the underdog element is also something i often get on board with. little monster, long time no see, but i am glad to see you back and i am pleased you like the record too.

I've always liked Miley since the start to be honest. Hannah Montanna was a nice little sitcom and I love Miley's Breakout and Can't be tamed album. Can't be tamed was like one of my fav albums back in 2010
Thanks for the welcome back GPK |

Thanks for the welcome back GPK ![]() "cant be tamed" is a good album and i like some of her other previous tracks too. touching on another thing gigi said about her voice, i do agree its quite distinctive. her version of "the climb" is streets ahead of the x factor cover, because she connects with the song in a more emotional way and the southern charm in her voice just suits the song better. |

What i have always like about Miley is the country twang that sometimes comes out in her voice. Of course her dad is a country singer and she has been raised through that, so it is bound to rub off.

congratulations to miley on her uk chart double.
![]() http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...m-bangerz.html i actually do believe that the single and album both deserve these positions. however, i will admit its an added bonus that the many people who have been moaning about her for what seems like eternity, probably wont welcome this news.

anyone else excited about her mtv unplugged session? i think this could play to her strengths as a stripped back live vocalist...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8uppUf2Qi0 now while the live aspect of this video is perhaps dubious, having seen a recent video of her singing this live again, i know she can still nail this song and it suits her perfectly. so i wonder if she will include this country classic in her set? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOwblaKmyVw i also wonder what songs from "bangerz" will get the unplugged treatment and which classics she will perform from her catalogue. |

well the videos from the unplugged session have arrived online and she did do a cover "jolene" again.
![]() http://www.mtv.com/shows/miley_cyrus...eo/#id=1721351 the set was heavy on the "bangerz" content, but i really liked the acoustic treatments on the songs. this is my favourite vocal performance from her set, but you can see all the performances via the links. ![]() http://www.mtv.com/shows/miley_cyrus...eo/#id=1721351 |
