Looking for a good set of ear bud headphones

I've been using Sennheiser CX 300 for a few years now, but they seem to break every 6-12 months on me. Been looking now for a different brand but there are so many to choose from.

I got a pair of Reid and Heath MA-350 which seemed to get good reviews the other day, but the cable makes so much noise when it rubs against my clothes that you can't hear the music half the time.

Can anyone recommend a good pair, up to £40 that doesn't have this problem?

I've got a pair Klipsch X1 - good alternative to the Senns which I also like. Available for about £20 from Amazon and (I think) sold as the S1 when sold by other established retailers !

I was looking at them the other day on Amazon but was put off by the reviews. A lot of people saying you really need to force them into your ear to create a seal, others saying they are sore after a while.

How do you find them? Any issues with the cable rubbing against your clothes causing noise?

No trouble from the cable rubbing.

I wear them for about an hour at a time I suppose and haven't noticed any soreness

They are a bit bass light until you get them "just right" in your ears - it takes a couple of seconds of fiddling but I've found this with most phones

Had these about a year now

I have Shure SE315s. They are expensive but worth every penny of it.

With all phones that fit in the ear you need a good fit for sound insulation and bass response. Shure supply 3 different designs in 3 sizes so that one of those nine choices will be a perfect fit.

The detail and oomph of these phones needs to be heard to be believed.

JVC fx-67 Marshmallows can be found for around a tenner and get good reviews for a budget IEM. Also JVC FX 67 Airs slightly more expensive (£15-£20) are also considered great value. I have and use the airs regularly in the Gym.
