Rice pudding with basmati rice
Does anybody know if it's possible to make rice pudding with basmati rice.
I have a real hankering for rice pudding so I can have a splodge of my mums home made damson jam which is amazing and the only rice we've got is normal basmati rice. Any recipes please.

Have never tried anything other than pudding rice - but found this with google.

It will work (as will long grain) but never turns out as nice as it does when using pudding rice. imo.
Might need a bit more liquid as in my experience, it absorbs more than pudding rice. |

You really want a rice with high starch content so it becomes creamy. Thats why pudding rice or risotto rice will work better.
