This chain of bakers who have stores in the NW and West Yorkshire were featured on The One Show tonight.

As I live in London, has anyone tried their cakes and pastries and are they as good/bad as Greggs?

We have one in our town centre have to admit though I've never been in it, not sure if I fancy it to be honest plus Greggs is a few doors away from it.

Is this part of a new trend to have 'pound' in the name of every high street shop?

Someone has managed to come up with a bakery concept even more downmarket sounding than Greggs,

Well done them.

I'll stick to a proper bakery I think - one where things are made from scratch on site, not reheated from frozen/ready made.

I've bought stuff from there several times and it's fine, their hot cross buns were gorgeous

It looks like Sayers have rebranded all their stores outside Liverpool to Poundbakery as the addresses are the old Sayers shops.

I've always found Sayers' products pretty good so if the quality is anything like as good as before for those prices they're onto a winner. I'm not sure how they'll make any profit though!
