Where Would You Film A Soap

If you were ITV, where would you film a new soap that would be going out on screen?

I would film it in either Cornwall, Oxford or Sheffield.

I'd say Cornwall as well - around Newquay so they can kinda go for a sort of UK Home and Away type of soap...

Not a bad idea Emzi, with the right cast and story lines it could be really good. To start off with you could have the opening few episodes showing Abby Davis coming to universtiy from Hollyoaks and then take it from there. A Hollyoaks spin off if you like.

Perthshire in Scotland would be great for a soap. its mixture of busy towns, and rural settings, frequent visits from tourists, and the right mix of people who live there, could be a great soap to compete with River city, high road and then eventually the big 3.

lol! A soap in Perthshire would be funny! But I would like one set in Aberdeen. Sort of a Scottish version of Dallas. Revolving around the oil business and stuff. The family could all live on a big farm. lol!

A soap set on the coast anyway, so it would be like Knots Landing or something. And you could see the beach with the lead female character saying that she'd never seen the ocean etc. like Valene! lol.

Something glitzy and glamorus....

Cornwall - lots of people moving in and lots of conflict that could result from that and a mixture of classes. Stunning scenery and plenty of scope for falling down mine shafts or off cliffs, plus possibilities of witchcraft and Wickerman type scenarios.

The cornwall one sounds good.

How about setting one in Spain? They could use the old elderado sets...

Northern Ireland. It is so poorly represented on TV at the moment a soap would do it the world of good.
