Oh good, about time too.
Shame we will have to wait till January, but it will be nice to see the older episodes again.

I thought they would wait to catch up closer to the current run. 3 1/2 years is still quite a while back, they were only 2 years behind last time they went back.

I'dve thought it would take longer as they're nearing te point where it went 4 times a week- when they do that UK Gold would onlybe catching up by 3 months per year, as opposed to the 8 they are currently.

WHAT!

rot started to begin?

NOOOOOOO

This was the time when EE started to be the must see event of the week! 2001 is when John Yorke made the show great again!

It is the year 2001 where 20 million poeple watched who shot phil, and the slaters trouble and Sharons great comeback etc etc etc.......It was a great year........But 2002 is when the rot began, it is the year LB joined the show!

Sorry but you do not know what your talking about

Well, I'll give you 2001, Iwe should see most of it by the end of this year any way.
Yes 2002, with the intro of LB was when the rot really set in.

How is 3 1/2 years too close, especially considering the age of programmes on UK Gold's shedule. I'd rather they'd wait until they're at least 2 years behind. As I said, UK Gold didn't end the last run until they were just over 2 years behind.

It's too close in that I don't have the memory of a goldfish so can still remember these episodes in detail.
5 years is about as close to recent tmes as I wanna see, any nearer and it should be called UK Only Just recently Shown.
Same goes for other series, I''ve never been a fan of the '2 wrongs make a right' argument anyway.

I find the episodes on UKTV Gold at the moment are quite dull and too recent. Will really be excited to have the chance to watch it from the start. I was only a few months old when it started after all.........

I want to see the whole of 2001 as it was a great year for EE. It close to when EE when to four episode a week so the gap will get bigger.

The Dan kidnapped Mel happen in August 2001 (the week when it start four episode a week) so in about 3/4 months it will be on UK Gold.

I would like to see it from the beginning- it would be interesting to see what 'the great Den Watts' was like. I never saw him then, but my Mum keeps telling me he used to be a lot better then! Could be an interesting contrast.

I was too young to see those days, but I've seen quite a few of the episodes and Den is VERY different. Sometimes (more recently) you get flashes of the old Den when he shows emotions or when Leslie Grantham can be arsed to act well, but otherwise, we are still waiting for the old Den to return

Too young to remember the Den Watts era??
God I'm getting old.

The episodes of Corrie they are showing on Plus are old enough to be considered Gold. About 10yrs old I think.
I think shows should only be considered Gold if they have a feeling of being from a different era. Eg the 'Den and Angie era' .

Well THIS SUCKS. I wanted to watch up until March 2002 (when Steve Owen left) before I switched off. Now I'll have to wait... (does the maths...but can't work it out)...God knows how many years before it gets that far again. I am really mad now. Grrr.

As far as i was aware, due to their agreement with the BBC, UKTV Network are not allowed to show Eastenders from the start - so prehaps a bit more research is needed to confirm this.
