QFT. Most of us take for granted that we can have a relationship with whoever we want and still keep our family. Even when there's a strained relationship between in laws, most of us try to get along for the sake of the person we have in common (my younger brother can't stand my older brother's wife but he's always perfectly polite and civil to her). It makes me mad when people call Syed selfish, or accuse him of letting his family down, for simply wanting something that most of us (including the people who slag him off) take for granted


Thanks Must say I didn't notice any smirking but then I switched over to BBC3 as soon as Julia's Theme started and have never watched it again, and I'm not about to go and check now either:sleep:

Ugh, oversimplifying Roxy's oversimplification. Well done, BBC. Now, I'm not one to defend Roxy's attitude towards Syed generally, but she was decent there! She acknowledged how much Syed loved Christian, and just said that if marriage and kids weren't for him, he should speak up so he doesn't hurt Christian. Not that he wasn't committed to their relationship. Not wanting marriage and kids does not necessarily equal not being committed to the relationship.
