I don't know whether Ingrid gets her kit off.

Next Saturday's episode is a good place for BBC4 to stop for now as there was a 3 year gap in production after that episode

Yes some things are worth waiting for, D. I'm not a very patient girl though

Damn. Well I hope someone has in the last 2 eps or I'll go right off this MentalBaldo lark.

I've gone from the shallow end to the trough everyone washes their feet in now.

I'll be sorry to see it finish but The Bridge does look good....

PS and that Headhunters film looks good too.

I'd rather know if something's worth the wait while I'm waiting than find out it's not much later on.

Patience is over-rated.

I'm way past knackered now but I'll use it as excuse for jibbering this time

Trying to shift over from earlies to nightshift bodyclock always knocks me about until I manage it.

I was doing ok until Mr industrial hedgetrimmer next door got going this afternoon. 3 hours sleep in 45 and counting....bugger.

You gibber all you like, you're amongst friends here Anyway, that's nothing new with you

That's the trouble with doing different shifts from one week to the next, it mucks you around. I'd hate that. It's bad enough getting up at 4.45am everyday, but I'd rather do that than have one week of early shifts then the next week lates.

Yep it's a joy. Still up and totally wide awake now.

Catching up with MentalBaldo's Croquettes - Mimi's put his foot in it with Beba Livia's had enough of IM, can't blame her, . Ingrid's on the scene already and Orlando's all Catarella's.

oh and Stefania's made the wait worthwhile

Such a pity that we have seen the last of Livia , with or without kit. I thought it a bit odd that she was not in the scenes with the Tunisian boy that she wanted to adopt in the early episodes. Are there any plans to show the more recent Mentalbaldo?

I believe Caterella now looks after Orlando

It would be nice if Mimi got married in the last episode , but he doesn't seem the marrying type. Unlike Salvo he couldn't care less about cheating on his fiance. That girl in the last ep was pretty hot , but once again Salvo declines the chance.

Have seen this week's episode now. Mentalbaldo living up to his reputation by knocking the hell out of that house 'cause the olive tree had been cut down!

Got to laugh at the fact MB didn't call the paramedics to give a member of the public the once over after she had been flippin' knocked down by a car! Instead he waits about an hour, then just calls the doc once she's hobbling about looking for all the world like she's about to collapse.

Oh and the parrot singing a communist song!

And I see from the posts above that Livia won't be in it anymore - he's still referring to her as his girlfriend though.

Really glad people are enjoying Inspector Montalbano. I've watched all of them on dvd - which I had to buy in in a region 4 format at the time as they were Australian - and read all of the books so I am a huge fan. I love the humour and the fact that IB is basically a very good egg. I love all the Scandi-crime as well though, there's room for both.

Yeah I like the humour in this too. MentalBaldo cracks me up and Catarella is a comedy all on his own. Loved all his Orlando pics . It's an entertaining watch. A light hearted interlude between the darker Nordic stuff.

I have to confess, I've got rather a large crush on Mimi. I know MentalBaldo is supposed to be the heartthrob in this, but he does nothing for me. Mimi all the way!

Hey, it could be worse - I could fancy Catarella!

So wait, the actress who plays Livia can't speak Italian, and speaks in English? How on earth does that work?

But the actual stories are far from light hearted. They can be very dark and disturbing , like the last episode for example

I have never been able to work out how one actor ( Livia) can have a dialogue with another actor if they are speaking different languages. How would the other actor know when to respond if he didn't know what she was saying. The only thing I can think of is that Livia speaks ,not English , but a different Italian dialect which would make it difficult for Italian viewers to understand but at the same time being able to be understood by the other cast members

She grew up in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland and Swiss Italian is slightly different to regular Italian

Thanks , that sounds like a good explanation , but even so why not just use a regular Italian speaking actress?

Maybe they cast her in order to increase sales in Switzerland and Austria (her father was Austrian)
