Cool! I'd had a long gap between Euro dramas since Arne Dahl ended.

Presumably we won't see Bridge 2 until 2014??

YM had the wonderful mix of familiar ingredients so far:

- Crazy old man
- Beautiful suspect
- Caterella's antics
- A meticulous Fazio - two in the last episode.

All good stuff

It's a bafflement, but so true. I'd much prefer to be nobly resisted by short, plump Montalbaldi, than his hirsite younger version. Although it's a pleasant choice to make...

Looking forward to tonight's episode. There has been something that has been made pretty obvious so far, but for those who don't like speculation, I've put it in spoiler tags.

Spoiler
Hints in the story have suggested that Fazio senior is going to have a heart attack at some point. My guess is that he will either die or be forced to retire, and young Fazio will be brought in to take his place.

BIB I kept an eye out for that when I watched on iplayer.
Nothing gratuitous at all

He was just wearing a towel, with a brief torso moment

Looking forward to tonight's episode.
Never mind the plot and the subtitles which need constant attention, just the scenery puts me in a good mood...well that and the half a bottle of wine I'll be outside of, by that time.

Spoiler
I don't know if you saw the episode in the last series called the Dance of the Seagull, the one where our Fazio went missing and they were pulling bodies out of wells looking for him. In the TV version he was reported missing by his father, but in the books Fazio has a wife and she reported him missing. So will Camilleri go with the TV version with the father still being alive several years later or will he ignore that and perhaps kill him off?

I love Italians - they so unashamedly love beautiful women.

I should have guessed it was the introduction of Mimi.

Those legs!

Haha can you imagine any british drama where smartly dressed educated male characters talk about women like that?

I knew he was arriving in this episode, and it was therefore very obvious that it was him.

Mimi looks like a young Boycey

I think Salvo may be in with that Livia character.

Can't believe they still have dial phones there. I only just remember those - we had one until 1987.

I know I'm a novice to this programme but they haven't cleared up the kidnapping story yet have they? And now we're onto a mafia story?
Also he hasn't solved the mystery of he man who was shot in the hotel last week either.
