But she's Austrian....or are you talking about the new Swedish one? I thought Vetinari was referring to Livia no. 2 - i.e. Katharina Bohm.

I would also assume so, since we shan't see/hear the new Livia until Saturday.

And I regard Katharina Böhm as Livia no. 1, i.e. the original .

I meant no. 2 in chronological order of her ages otherwise it gets confusing.

Four brand-new stories from books which haven't even been published in the UK yet.

No let's just bump this one - it's nice to have it all in the familiar thread. Woo hoo - Luca is back tonight! Of course I like Michele just as much but still nice to 'see' Luca again.

Agreed, I like to re read older posts. We can celebrate when there are enough posts for Montalbano Part 2 thread though

As a bit of a Dario Argento fan, thought the dressing of the animal killer in a raincoat and gloves was a nice touch. Only problem is (and it's not because of the show) I keep dropping off at about half 10 and missing all the endings! Will have to watch them again.
I know what you mean about dropping off half way through, I think it's all the concentration required with the subtitles I just can't stay awake all the way through!

Looking forward to the return of old Luca tonight!

Looking forward to the return of old Luca tonight!
It might take me a few minutes to get used to the older versions of Salvo and co again

I'm looking forward to seeing Luca tonight, I have enjoyed Young Montalbano, but I prefer Luca. We had better make the most of him because we are going to have a long wait for the next series, Camilleri has only published one book in Italy since this series so he had better start writing!

but as an aside , we should have more european programmes than the facile drivel we get from the states.

less brash more subtle and mature.

The old guy right at the start saying to Salvo "I didn't recognise you" or wtte

I assume this was an in-joke about "old" Salvo being back

Old Mimi has young Mimi's moustache!

We didn't get to see much of Mimi, did we? But Galluzo a) hasn't changed at all, and b) got to fire his gun a lot!

Presumably Francois will be a major story in future episodes.

New Livia, still talking a different language to everyone else. I felt sure it was English.

I didn't enjoy tonight's as much as YM last week: back to screechy opening music and wobbly-helicopter shots at the start and it seemed a little too long.

Still rather better than a lot of the stuff we get though.

An enjoyable return.

Salvo was a little bit hypocritical getting all paranoid over Carlo seeing as he indulged himself with Angelica - her with the very prominent nipples and hard-to-get persona.

Mimi had a frightening dead caterpillar on his lip - in homage to young Mimi perhaps?

Catarella was indulged about his computer game - or did that keep him out of everyone's hair.
