your one of the ones I'm talking about, on the other thread !

We all have opinions yes your right, BUT you & I dont have the listening publics ears to bend !

you say hes not broken any rules ? just shows the guys got no morrels if you ask me, would he be banging the big drum if it was one of his family ? ........ I'll rest my case on that question !

Did you actually even read what i said ? I said i personally disagree with what he said. Correct we don't but Steve works for a independent radio group not the BBC so is aloud an opinion, just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it's straight away wrong.

I ask you the same question, If it was any other presenter that you liked that said this would you still be banging on ? Ill rest my case on that question !

He sounds paticularly vile this morning. Ranting about dangerous dogs but seems to be saying 14 year old girl was at fault for eating a meat pie in front of them and it was obvious they would attack her,

Oh dear, no ambiguity now, he thinks the young girl was 'dumb' for eating in front of the dogs. Really quite offensive.
Well she paid an extremely high price for being "dumb", the poor girl.

I wonder how those dogs would've faired if they had tried to snatch a meat pie off of old Steve. I suspect it would be the dogs that would've come off second best.

I'm sure he's grateful to you for linking everybody to his LBC page. Are you sure you're not protesting too much?
I linked up the LBC page so it could be seen how dreadful and out-of-date is 'The World According To Steve Allen'.
I'm old enough to remember a young slim spikey haired SA alongside Therese Birch at Exhibition Centre Olympia.
A young fan wanted him to sign a photo of Therese. 'Do I look like Therese Birch?' he said. We all laughed.
Who would have thought his ego would develop into the horror of today.
Please take note of the title of this thread.

The trouble is he thinks he's so perfect, this coming from a bitter unhealthy old Victor Mildrew type character.

He has old fashioned views that are stuck in the past on some subjects.....i.e seems to think anyone can walk into a job, while there aren't enough jobs for the population. He does live in a bubble doesn't he.

he does seem to forget he is in one of the few professions left where exams and continual learning are not required by in some part law.

And he has the biggest audience of any station and his audience is growing so for every 'i'm bored of him' ex listener there's more 'this bloke is hilarious' new listeners.

And long may he continue

So he gets more listeners on what is basically a local radio, night show than any individual on any of the national BBC stations during the day/evening?

He's on at 4am for a reason. Hidden from view to most people who wake up after he's gone off air.

You will be surprised to know that Steve actually has more listeners for his slot than JHB's afternoon show as well as most of the old 7 - 10 slot.

The audience literally shoots up at 4am.

If you don't like it why listen ? Go and join Harriet Scott over at BBC London banging on about Bin collections or something.

I'm really sorry I missed that, I did switch on at 4 am but then I fell asleep again! However, as there seems to be plenty of evidence that he said what he did, I'd like to add my opinion that it was an absolutely disgusting thing to say, and quite unnecessary. I hope he does have to at least make an apology, it was way over the mark, even for his brand of "edgy" radio.

Depends if they get upheld or not, even capital breakfast gets 4 or 5 a month, Ferrari also receives a few each month as well. As long as there not upheld then everything is fine.

Todays comments were certainly not everyone's view but certainly breaks no rules so doogodders can complain all they wan

By people who have nothing better to do than listen to a bitter queen.

Sad really.

I don't think S/A will be around much longer I personally know 4 complaints issued to Ofcom about todays show and other shows which have breached broadcasting rules.

Basically S/A cannot continue the way he is going, obviously these complaints will be fully investigated and let's see what happens to SA

I just think it's a bit sad. I've listened to Steve for years, and his monologues and rants used to be quite funny, but of late he's descended to making completely outrageous statements that really aren't funny, and which have no basis in fact. It's the sort of thing you'd do as a teenager when you were trying to get a response and seeing how far you could go. Doesn't sit well with a 50-something radio presenter, unfortunately.

I go with everything you say Susie.

Steve Allen used to take care with his presentation but those days have gone ('I'm afraid ladies and gentlemen').
Of late it has been a cheap trick for him just to watch TV day and night and rip apart everything and everybody he sees.

Indeed as a fat old jaded radio presenter in his 60th year (had to say it because he would) I would love to hear what he'd make of radio presenters and shows - would the old 'dreary dreary' 'horrible horrible' mantras come out?
I doubt it because the wasted SA brain needs visuals for his ridiculous moans.
Now - these massive leaping audience figures at 4am others talk about, where are they?

You can't argue with the figures, its not on there but he even now beats Radio 4. By 5am he's over doubled the audience when all the other stations are still around the same level as they were through the night, the audience is also a fair bit higher at 5am than when JHB starts at 1pm. Ironically since his show has got more bitchy, made the odd shock jock comment and he has dropped the guests his audience has actually increased even more.

On terms of what he makes of other shows, he quite regularly voices his opinion of Radio 2 at that time and made a comment about BBC London as well when Harriet Scott started.

PS: While your looking check out KISS for a strange graph, 11 - 12 (Kisstory) actually has a bigger audience than breakfast.

Hope he gets his comeuppance, he gets away with it but it's only a matter of time before someone pulls him up.

He's got so smug and cosy after being at LBC for so long. I bet the BBC wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

I agree the BBC wouldn't touch him but neither would they touch pretty mutch any of LBC there all too right wing for the BBC. They may use them for contributions but I coulden't see many of them being able to land a job at the BBC.

Say that today listening to Iain Lee I heard the promo for Jeni Barnet on BBC London *shudder*

Sickening remarks about the 14 year old victim of the dog attack. I have complained to LBC and suggest all who agree do as well.
