Janet was my initial favourite, but my love for her kind of waned...
Until five minutes ago when I discovered her version of "Someone Like You" on Youtube!!! Usually I hate the very sound of that song, but curiosity got the best of me, and now she's back up there alongside Sophie as my ultimate fave!

Janet steals the show again, this time by a complete mile. I need an album from this girl. I don't even care what she sings. She could turn Twinkle Twinkle Little Star into an all-time classic with her voice.

Janet was indeed amazingly good at the weekend. I wonder how well she is doing in the voting, it is so hard to tell these things.
She is no longer the favourite with the bookies, down to second favourite after The Risk (who were good at the weekend as well). The poll on the main Digital Spy site put her top, just about, just ahead of a bunch of other acts. There does seem to be a lot of "hate" on the forums from a certain section towards her, which I cannot understand (though I can't understand "hate" threads anyway, it seems to be an unpleasent mindset that posts just to attack someone/something rather than say something positive about an act that they like). But I was certainly voting for her at the weekend.

I converted all her youtube tracks into mp3 so made myself a little Janet album.
She is the only reason I'm watching at the moment, finding everyone else quite disappointing.

Based on a bit of statistics hocus pocus with online polls, youtube likes etc., I would say Janet almost certainly led the voting last week, by approximately 5%. Of course that's unreliable, but I'd say when I put her with a lead as big as 5%, that probably did manifest into a lead in the voting. However, I would expect The Risk to win the competition as they will pick up more floating voters than Janet throughout the series I'd imagine. We'll see! A top 2 or top 3 finish ought to be perfectly fine, or potentially even better than a win anyway.

My decision making process is to play the shows repeatedly but fast-forwarding over individual performances as I get bored with them.
This process of elimination always leaves me with Janet. Her voice has rough edges in places but just listen to the subtleties of what she is capable of. She can begin a note, change its tone or volume in the middle and add or remove vibrato at will. She is a strange mixture of subtle and unfinished and I can listen over and over hearing new things and trying to decide whether I like the 'dodgy bits' or not. It's a never-ending process and I just don't get tired of her. The same is true of her looks, her face is so mobile she can look like three different people in as many seconds. |

I've got your Halloween song on repeat Janet. Wow your eyes were scary! I was kind of surprised at first but the more I hear it the more I like it. I'm buying it off iTunes and voting for you as always.
Louis: haunting, the best thing about you - you're real Tulisa: You mean business. I'm starting to see you the real Janet and I love that. Gary: Great performance. I'm a massive fan of yours Alex: You have something very rare, you mean every word you sing. You have just done Ireland proud |

k, I have to admit I haven't liked Janet the last 2 weeks. Not because her voice wasn't divine, but I didn't think the song choice and/or the arrangement was great. In particular her version of Sweet Child O' Mine annoyed me because she could've rocked it! So the question is, what club classic is she taking on this week, and is this going to be the week she steps up to the plate?

I Want You Back for Janet tonight. I assume that's the Jackson 5 version but can't be 100% Quote:

Just want to say, Marcus is my favourite, but I have a lot of respect for Janet tonight. She tried something different, and other than the lyrics slip up I thought she did well, and she looked like she was actually enjoying it rather than having a scared expression someone not comfrotable with uptempo may have.
Her recovery was fantastic as well, and I really hope she is safe this week, because I feel she shouldn't be "punished" for listening to the judges comments and being brave enough to try something. |

Guys, if you vote for Janet one week, make it this week! Because I won't lie, I'm worried for her. Early in the running order, with mixed judges comments. She was alright, but it certainly wasn't her best.
