Despite Janet's amazing voice, talent and potential, that's now two weeks in a row that have been "experimental" and not really worked.

I want her to at least make the final, but liks last week, I'm worried for her again this week, because it didn't look and sound right, it was just too much "not what she is".

The sooner she and Kelly get her back to what made her the massive favourite she was, based on wonderful audition, bootcamp, judge's houses and week 1 and 2 live shows especially, the better, because she really needs to up her game to that level.

I still think Janet has more talent than any of the rest by some way. But those song choices need to be right.

Next week, if she is there, needs to be a very very well known song, a ballad where she can show off that amazing heart-melting voice and lilt, and she fly shoot back to the top of the voting.

For now, however, she will need votes badly this week, if she is going to have a chance to get through this double elimination week.

I agree with the bit in bold. She can sing more than just ballads though. She was good tonight until she messed up the words and I want her to do more ballads but also more up tempo songs in the future but she needs the right song to do them.

I think Janet's definitly going to need our votes tonight more than ever so we all need to vote.

I've been voting all day, but I have to admit I'm worried for her this week. She has been my favourite from day one. She's fabulous.

She's been the same for me, I've voted for her but I just can't afford to do mass amounts of multiple votes unfortunately, however she does have quite a big fan base (although I don't know where they all are hiding) and when people think their act is in danger they do vote like crazy so it may save her. I really hope she makes it through she's the only reason I'm watching, I don't care about the other acts.

Hopefully Janet is the first to be called out, or one of the first.
Fingers crossed.

Hope they don't torture her by waiting like they did Marcus the other week.

Well they did scare her, but that doesn't matter now. We did it! Hopefully she puts a better performance out next week and we don't have to worry so much!

So Amelia Lily will almost certainly be returning on Saturday. Looks like it could be an expensive few weeks for us Janet fans, the last thing we needed was another girl to compete with, particularly one who will rake in the votes initially due to their shock return to the show.

It sure doesnt look too good, but then again let the best one win .

And really, I dont care if she wins, it would be nice if she got a record deal out of this, but for me most important thing is that she performs well, has fun, and learns something out of this.

Amelia is the likely winner of the "competition of the rejects" this coming weekend.

And she will pick up an immediate voting base of the otherwise disaffected, people who have lost the acts they did support, and floating voters from other acts.

But I can't see Janet losing very many votes to her. Janet's appeal is a little different. I suspect some of the other acts may suffer more.

Really, I believe Janet's progress from this point in is mostly just about one thing ... her own performances. She is the most talented act in the competition, but she is also capable of making mistakes. After a couple of weeks being sub-par, she needs a knock'em-dead performance on Saturday.

She has the ability. If she delivers, she will be a shoe-in for the final.

So the question is now, Queen or Lady Gaga for Janet? Either will be a challenge for her, but this week has to be her week to shine.

Considering this is an appreciation thread there seems to be some criticism. I would point out a number of facts. The problem in I Want You Back was minor and probably due to last minute changes. However if you watch the audience at the end of the full clip you will see that Janet got a standing ovation.

She also was voted back in and has so far got 336,202 views on the official XFactor YouTube channel for that performance alone. 11/11/2011 - 20:36 hrs

If my calculation is correct, the second best score is Misha with only 178,648 views.

On her worst weeks Janet consistently beats the other competitors on their best weeks in just about any objective measurement you care to make.

What does Janet have to do to please us?

Come on you lot, stop knocking the girl and just support her!

I frankly don't care what arrangement she does of the Queen or Gaga song tomorrow. As long as she does it her own way I know I will love it. (and buy the iTunes download)

i love Janet and never give negative posts, ive loved all her performances even i want you back and to be honest i didnt notice the forgotton words i was to busy singing along it wasn't till Tulisa mentioned it and i played it back that i realised
Janet's singing as always touched me, love her and want her to win
but i do personally think a gaga song wont go down well with the older generation of voters as a queen song and i really don't like queen but i know ill think Janet's version will be the best i've heard

1. Same here
2. Well whatever we say, she has already chosen her song and rehearsed it!

She has also said that she is returning to her old style although I don't know how old 'old' is. I think that, however she interprets it (a) it will be different from the original and (b) some people will complain, but I won't be one of them.

I find it both exciting and scary when she comes on because I know she is likely to experiment. This shows a lot of bravery IMO and proves she is still not willing to compromise the music for the 'success'. I believe she can accomplish both.

Just because this is an appreciation thread doesn't mean we can't suggest improvements she can make! "Janet was perfect!" every week doesn't make for very good discussion. I don't think she's been bad the last 3 weeks, far from it. But I know she can do better, and that's all I want from her. I want her to be the best she can be (like she was in week 1 & 2). She is infinitely better than all the other contestants at her best.

Now if you want to see criticism of Janet, then just take one step out of this thread. There's a forum of people who have a relentless, unjustified hatred of the girl and will take every chance they can get to knock her and criticise her. This thread is an escape from that nonsense, but there's no reason why it should be la-di-da land. If Janet comes out tomorrow and delivers a horrendous performance (I can't for one second imagine her doing that, but this is hypothetical) then I'm going to say so here. I'm going to say it because I care and I want to see her win the competition!

I completely and totally agree. With all of it!

Devlinacious, we are all fans of Janet here, but that does not mean none of us ever find any places she needs to improve, it was uncharitable of you to suggest her other fans are not appreciating her or should not be posting on this thread if they are not as 100% positive as you have been here.

I have said here and elsewhere, I considered her week 5 performance very subpar (even though I know you didn't feel that way), but I have also said, I think she is an amazing singer, she is the best in the competition, I vote for her every week and I will buy her music when it is released. Furthermore, I know you have seen my posts on the main forums, I am hardly lukewarm in my praise for her as an artist.

I also believe and expect her performance tomorrow will be absolute knock-out!
