Currently reading Preacher and wondered if there were any other similar comics that are as good.

Plenty, but it basically depends on your personal tastes. I could recommend Neil Gaiman's Sandman but if you're not a fantasy fan, you might not enjoy it. On the other hand, if you like Preacher you might well enjoy The Invisibles. Or if you like superheroes, James Robinson's Starman or Alan Moore's Watchmen. Then, for the more 'human interest' inclined, there's Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise or the Hernandez Bros. Love & Rockets. Not to mention Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol and Animal Man, or Hellblazer, or House of Mystery., or..

Plenty of "mature" comics out there... Transmetropolitan, Global Frequency, The Boys (by Garth Ennis, same writer as Preacher... his run on Punisher is worth checking out, too), Lucifer, Scalped, 100 Bullets... even Fables! Maybe just check out what the Vertigo imprint produces.

Cheers for the suggestions.

House of Mystery looks interesting.
It is and the monthly series is nearly complete.

If you like this, you will definitely like "The Sandman"

Also...

Garth Ennis - 'A Man Called Kev' and related Kev books, sub-tales to The Authority
Ennis' - Crossed (taking dystopian apocalypse genre to the extreme).. there are also Crossed sequels by David Lapham, if this your thing.
Ennis' - The Boys (as mentioned above... a whole new and maybe more honest look at a world of superheroes)
Ennis' - Chronicles of Wormwood (more mulitlayered Ennis genius with an innovative look at organised religion and its mythology)

Mark Millar - Kick-Ass (very commercial and a bit OTT, but another more realistic of a superhero world)

Frank Miller - Daredevil 'Born Again' (mainstream adult themed Marvel classic.. not to be confused with current Daredevil 'Reborn' arc)

Robert Kirkman - The Walking Dead (Kirkman's exceptional series)

Warren Ellis - Freak Angels... (Warren Ellis' online comic has been put in TPBs... wonderful eerie, and with great dialogue a 'drowned' London and 12 of its most strange and most powerful inhabitants... I really enjoyed this, maybe as it was set in the UK and was very good!)

Brian Micahel Bendis - Alias.. (another clever mixing of mainstream Marvel's superheroes and adult themes as we follow the life of a retired superheroine turned detective)

More serious and real - 'Maus', 'Palestine', 'Persepolis', ... enter these on Amazon to get names of similar books looking at stories within the 'real world.

Hope this helps

'Criminal' is an excellent noir style book and the world it creates is just marvellous.

Also 'Incognito' which is a similar style, but a bit more pulpy' is quite good. It's generally about a super-villain who goes into witness protection.

A few others to mention are

Scalped (by Jason Aaron - he seems to be the next big thing in my opinion, reminds me a lot of 100 Bullets), in fact you might also want to check out PunisherMax if you like Garh Ennis comics.

Others definately worth checking out are

Crossed
Sweet Tooth
Fables
100 bullets

Actually im going to have a huge sale on my site too so if theres any suggestions of titles your interested in i'll add them to it. (www.inter-comics.com)

I definitey agree on these two, I'm not a huge comic reader but alongside Watchmen these are right up there!

I picked up WD because I thought the show was crap but had potential, 'm currently on issue 55 and it's awesome!

As for Kick-Ass, I preferred the movie BUT this is still good, not started on series 2 of the comics yet though.

TWD, in my opinion is one of the finest 'character led' comic series ever published... I think it's wonderful!

Hmmm... let me know what you think of Kick-Ass 2... I finisehed it recently.
