I think so too but it is wholly unneccessary Halcyon has all but sold itself and all it needs is a few more singles to keep momentum and eventually without a re-release it could get to at least 400,000 and as you said maybe even 2x platinum. I don't think other than the non buyers that there is even a market amongst fans for a re-release.

And so true Explsoiosn saved Halcyon. There is nod enying that after figre 8 the album was dead. Then explosions and here we are

Halcyon up 3 to #22

I think it's safe to say Ellie can now be ceritifed platinum for sales and shipments

That sounds good from what I heard, it will probably be a grower

I really like it i do hope whether our assumptions on a re-release are true or not that there is a full version. It all feels very Bright Lights the songs work as an accompnying body of work whilst what will come next will again be different.

Burn has benn released.

for what it sounds like think any mainstream genric dance tune and you've got it. Seems her record company are pushing her in the direction of INYL. It's a shame as Halcyon was a huge step up and showcased the artist she could and would be with time. Burn is a massive step back and as a fan i feel totally let down by it its a total cop out even if it means success.

i think what ever Ellie releases its going to sound different and distinctive because of her vocals, its whether she can perform it live that would make it a hit or miss for me

TBh it really isn't shown off to its best in a song this average. It's way below her capabilities. I'm just dissapointed i guess and having a total fan rant

If there is one thing i hate it's a re-release especially of an album that didn't need it

Hmm it's good, not very creative but it is rather enjoyable. It does not fit the artistic style of Halcyon though, so I assume it will be like Gaga's Fame Monster where the re-released part sounds different to the original, though in this case it could be a down-ward spiral. I agree hav_mor, songs like My Blood and Halcyon have been unfairly passed over

I can see it being a top 10 single though

If it were a standa alone EP that you could buy seprately or as a 2 disk set with the original Halcyon it would work. it will tide things over bring in more sales and sustain the era.

But it just does not fit at all. It's average but luckily with her at the helm it's somewhat lifted. But like you Bad My Blood, Only You wasted.

What is worse is that whilst i hate re-releases. What they should ahve done released 1 or 2 more singles off Halcyon then re-release it with 3 extra tracks and some remixes. As the Halcyon era is far from done the album has risen 2 weeks in a row without a single imagien if there were a single.

Also i feel cheated after paying extra for the deluxe not to mention how those who paid £25 for the special edition boxset must feel.

It's a really poor showing from Ellie. And on Burn's cover she has totally sexed it up she is so much better than that.

I blamed Calvin Harris, this whole I Need Your Love fiasco has gone to her head I think!

I know, again, Gaga managed 7 singles or so out of The Fame era, so Ellie could have managed the same! And yeah, I'm annoyed for paying £8 for the album last November, I don't know if I will bother downloading any new stuff unless it really draws me in

I blame the record company i feel they are really trying to push her in this direction and it isn't one that suits her and will alienate a vast swather of her fans. You and i are big big fans and are totally seething.

I mean i comapre it to You My Everything released this week too and it was perfect fitted with the ear and had that beautiful dub break down and was very Ellie and very different.

Halcyon Days 23rd August 2013 it's official.

9 songs including Stay Awake released last october on the Teco Edition. Als her cover of Tesselate, Burn and 6 other new songs. I swear down at 9 bloody tracks there is a seperate EP release as it is rediculous to expect us to shell out what will be another probs £10 for 13 tracks we already own and 3 tracks we ahve already heard.

Plus I totally called the title Halcyon Days

The picture looks like its from the Halyon sessions with some colouring in

Either way she has sold herself short diminished herself as an artist and gone down in my oppinion. And as with Beyonce and 4 when she releases album #3 i will be waiting until a year has passed so i am not short changed by Ellie again.

Thirdly stay Awake should have been released as lead far superior song.

I'm not liking this, is does seem like a set down artistically...hinted by the featuring [insert name of random "DJ"], though I may eat my words upon listening to it. Unless it's brilliant and grabs me in the way Halcyon did, I won't buy it

Tesselate and You, My Everything are the only twos songs in keeping with the style and standard set by Halcyon. The rest just does seem like the tripe Rit Ora would love to lay claim to. Stay awake is a good song. But the overall felling and consensus i'm getting is that this is an artistic step backward and has really lost her any credibiility she may have otherwise had.

I have always looked at it like this bare with me could get wordy

Bright Lights was an extension of Lights it fitted with the original but felt different enough to warrent a repurchase and overall ahd a good standard but would have served better as a crossover EP with a deluxe 2 disc for those who ha dyet to buy Lights.

Halcyon was a huge step up and away from Lights and firmly set her up as an interesting artist who had yet to peak with more potential to grow and watch.

Halcyon Days fits neither with her older material nore Halcyon. It's more mainstream a little more ameturish and is for want of a better word beneath her. It will only work as a seperate disc in a 2 disc set or as a stand alone EP.

But overall Halcyon Days just feels odd and disjointed and has set her backwards. And i was always worried it would be the route she would ahve originally taken Halcyon but she didn't she grew. But now she has regressed as an artist.

This could backfire many of her fans may feel alienated and short changed and perhaps abandon future releases.
