Yes it is...i hear what you mean like when we discussed and analysed (love it) the Like A Prayer album and that its like a sunny winters day or a bitter summers day...its that kinda Magical/Tim Burtoney atmosphere....i like it....Halcyon is definitely much wider in scope than Lights...though i like Lights of course...Halcyon is miles ahead

Yeah, Halcyon is similar to Like a Prayer in the fact it can fit in all year, but I'm sure loads more albums are like that but yeah parts of Halcyon (Anything Could Happen, Explosions, I Know You Care and JOY) make you feel like you're warm by the fire but other parts (Don't Say a Word, My Blood and Figure 8) make you feel like you're out in the icy cold

YES i feel that...in the ways Like A Prayer is organic Halcyon is very Sonically wintery and summery fused together....its brilliant

Hey guys! Just started listening to Ellie a couples weeks ago, total accident - someone played me The Writer then I had to go out and get Lights and Halcyon.
Which might be the best ever timing cos she's coming to Glasgow on Thursday and it's not sold out!
Anyway I was wondering if the setlist is the same as from the live show she did at The Troubadour a couple months back?
Think it includes:
Don't Say a Word, Only You, Halcyon, I Know You Care, Figure 8, Anything Could Happen, Joy, Explosions, Guns and Horses, Starry Eyed, Under the Sheets, Your Song, Lights. I can't remember what else...

Yeah! I went to see her on Saturday and she did that set, it was just brilliant had such a fantastic time. JOY, Figure 8, Your Song, Lights and I Know You Care were real highlights

Not posted in here before. I'm a new fan of Ellie. I was always aware of her, but never really listened. I bought Halcyon on the strength of Anything Could Happen and Only You. I really like it so far. I've been listening to some stuff from her first album too. I haven't got it yet but I'm gonna get the repackaged version.

I love Guns + Horses - I've been listening to it all afternoon.

Halcyon is a progression in the right direction its a step up but not entirely away she has incorporated new elements and has shown us there is more to come and she is still in her infancy not so much an LAP style jump. For me Bright Lights was a continuation whereas Halcyon is an evolution on from \lights

And yay mimi glad you bought her she is amazing check out some of her demo's to her cover of Robyn's Be Min is brilliant.

I'm determined to actually learn to play the guitar in 2013. When I do I'd like to be able to play guns and horses. I love that song.

Awesome mimi hope you enjoy. For me the original 10 tracks are the best as an album all it lacked was Lights but the extra's are a nice bonus especially Human, Little Dreams, Animal, Believe Me

its the only album i have bought and 3 years later i still love And same also home on Bright Lights is not a favourite nor is Ritual on the deluxe of Halcyon TBH the songs on the deluxe save for Without Your ove and In My city were oright but nothingmajorly special.

Does anyone know if there is any way of getting (the Madeon produced) track "Stay Awake" other than buying the Tesco Exclusive version of Halcyon?

It's just that I have the Deluxe already and I feel it would be quite wasteful to buy another copy of the album just for one song.

Though I do love the song so much, it's a shame I only discovered it now. Oh well...

In My City is a great song, in fact they almost all are, such a quality album in my opinion

My favorite tracks are Don't Say a Word, My Blood, Anything Could Happen, Figure 8 and Dead in the Water. Though if I HAD to pick, I'd say Dead in the Water is my true favorite, it's so haunting

I'm not a hbuge fan of the extra tracks on the deluxe WYL could be a friendly fires song and Ritual really not a fan. But your so right it is a flawless album with really no filler favourites for me and it is hard to narrow down DSAW, MB, ACH, OY, Joy, Explosions, Atlantis and DITW. Atlantis is my favourite of all i think it matches the water/bird themed title beautifully

Sad that Ellie did not get any BRIT nominations, thought best female was possible if nothing else

I think these years noms are awful Emeli Sande is just keeping Adele's place warm and Ellie is far and above more unique and talented and Halcyon was a phenomenal album and a step up and away from her debut its really sad she has been snubbed Hope either now for a Jessie Ware or Paloma win.

I do like Emeli Sande, to be honest as long as Rita Ora wins nothing I'm fine but yeah, Halcyon was one of my 2012 albums and I honestly thought it had a shout

It's ovbious who is going to come away with what (Emeli) and for me she isn't in anyway special neither the ocal or lyrical depth of Adele nor the complexity and uniqueness found in artists ike Ellie, Paloma, or Jessie.
