HTC android phones

I am looking for a new phone. It should be Android (at least Froyo), and, as as I've been happy with HTC I would like to stick with them unless there is a compelling reason to stray. Budget is not really an issue, but size it - it shouldn't really be any bigger than a Desire.

So what are the best phones that aren't massive?

And how exactly does this "Locations" thing work? It claims to be zero-wait mapping with no data roaming fees.

Thanks

If money is not an issue go with the most powerful you can get. HTCs flagship at the mo is the sensation (I think) - comparison with a Desire here

The Google location system (anything map based) will normally require a data connection in order to download the map data. However, Google has introduced a 'workaround' where you can download a route or find a location and then download the maps in the surrounding area for access data-free later. Not tried it yet - but I think Google/Google maps will only store limited map data.

Try the Desire S. Can be had pretty cheap these days and is faster and more slick than the original Desire but is the same size. What HTC phone do you have now?

If budget is not an issue then give the Samsung Galaxy S2 a go. The size of the phone makes little difference in your pocket as it's so slim. I thought it would be too big but was pleasantly surprised.

HTC have their own 'Locations' map application where you download the map of whole countries before you travel. Best to do this on wifi as the maps are 100mb+. You can also pay extra for 'Premium Navigation' which is basically sat nav with a few extras such as route preview. The HTC Locations app can integrate data from Google Maps too.
