All in all, I don't think Richard was a brilliant character really. It was the plot that was remarkable.

He was a very good character but the answer would have to be NO.

He will be remembered as a villan, but not as a character.
Richard Hillman is in the same league as Alan Bradley, and he's only remembered for being run-over by a tram. There have been much, much better characters on Coronation Street. |

I totally agree.
He is the best and always will be the best villain ever. Top class action when he was on the street. |

He was the best villain but not the best character. If anything the story was more gripping. Tyrone Dobbs could have done it and it would have been just as exciting.

Killer Corrie was remarkable plot-wise, but Hillman himself... take him or leave him. I saw a clip recently from before the murders started, and he was acctually pretty crap.

I agree that it was the plot not hte character that was brilliant. I would definitely not say he was the best Corrie character ever, because the nominees for that have got to be Ena Sharples, Elsie Tanner, Hilda Ogden and the Duckworths - characters who were in the soap over 20 years, unlike soap characters now who are lucky to make 5 years.

He was great as Richard HIllman, but I don't think he was he greatest character of all time.
That surely has to go to somebody like Hilda Ogden, or Bette Lynch, or Annie Walker, or Rita Sullivan, or Ena Sharples, or Elsie Tanner ... Come to think of it, all the really great characters seem to have been women! Although I DO have a soft spot for Fred. |
