For some reason, I just couldn't get into it. I even tried watching again from Season Three.

^ if it's not for you then it's not for you. imho Dexter 101 is a perfect example of the makers showing you exactly what the series is all about, so the to-follow decision can be made there+then withouth the old "I'll give it a couple more eps just in case" suggestion coming into play.

Other series which are like that: Life (with Damien Lewis), Lie To Me (with Tim Roth), Pushing Daisies and The Middleman. (there are more, like Burn Notice, but don't want to be typing out a huge list )

Anyway, as for series I just couldn't get into
- One Tree Hill and Vampire Diaries - too much darn teen angst, not for me, not now, not ever, never.
- Damages - heard good things about it, got thru maybe 6-7eps, just lost the will and don't give 2 hoots to find out what happened to her guy. In fact I've gone off all lawyer shows - so that one with the two 'wacky' guys and the other one with the single-guy - bleh.
- The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. with Bruce Campbell - an example of a series I wanted to love (who doesn't love Bruce), but got turned off of by the lead actress - she just didn't work for me so I could just not watch it..... nuts.

Recently, Falling Skies. Liked the look of the trailer and watched the first episode and thought it was just 'ok'.

Watched the 2nd episode and realised i had little interest in any of the characters or the plot so gave up.

I could have written those exact same words -- every one.

24 - Tried the 1st season and couldn't really be bothered after about 12 episodes. I found that they did the one thing that annoys me in ALL of TV with the characters, which is to have the characters constantly keeping secrets from each other or not talking to each other properly. I find it immensely irritating and it's the reason I stopped watching Lost after season 2.

True Blood - Looked alright at the start but I lost interest after 3 shows and never went back.

Maybe I was put off by the likes of The Guardian gushing over it.

I could just imagine a bunch of metropolitan muppets at some poncy dinner party droning on about it.
I want to watch it but I keep missing it, they've just started repeating it so I thought I'd got the chance and would watch it every Sunday only to find out they've been showing it nightly and I've missed 4 episodes

Show I couldn't get into; Six Feet Under, V, Mad Men, FlashForward, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Smallville.

I've tried to watch The Wire a few times but always give up after 2-3 episodes as I can never work out who anyone is.

I had similar problems with The Sopranos and Broadwalk Empire. These shows with big ensemble casts can be tough work. Oddly though, I never had a problem with The West Wing despite it having a huge recurring casts.

I failed on my first two attempts at Mad Men, but eventually it finally clicked and I ended up watching the whole of Season 1 in a weekend.

Three times? It's probably just not your kind of show. I like it, although it's not for everyone.

When I first watched the Wire I had to use to web to find out who's who.

I didn't really get into it until I repeatedly watched the DVD box sets.

Season 2 improved a lot towards the end, and it was the reviews for season 3 that made me decide to start watching it in the first place, so I'm definitely sticking with it. The characters are fine, but the stand-alone episodes are so boring and pointless.....I really hope season 3 moves past them.

(I don't need to be told, I'll find out for myself)

I think I've given up on The Killing. I've missed the last 2 episodes and 2 morons already spoilt the end for me anyway (in a thread with a title that couldn't be more clear about not wanting spoilers, as is the DigiSpy way ). I watched the first 5 episodes of Hawaii 5-0 and found them to be rather rubbish......

The Middle - too similar to the brilliant Malcolm In The Middle.
Raising Hope - again the similarity to My Name Is Earl.
Southlands - reminded me of The Wire.
Mad Men, only watched the first 2 seasons and don't think I could watch any further.

I 'can't' watch the new version of Doctor Who - for me it'll always be Tom Baker or at a stretch Peter Davison.

I lasted longer with V than Falling Skies. I made it to the first mid-season break with V but never came back. With Falling Skies, I turned it off halfway through episode 3 as it seemed to be little more than people running around in the dark.

Damages. I'm halfway through the third season as I'm determined to watch it all, but I'm always more or less forcing myself to watch it until the last few episodes of each season. If Rose Byrne and Glenn Close weren't so fantastic I'd definitely have given up by now. It's just so slow!

True Blood (gave up 10 minutes into the first episode)
Nikita
Leverage (A complete and utter rip-off of Hustle which is something else I also stopped watching a couple of seasons ago because I had finally gotten fed up of the smugness of the main characters)
White Collar
Seinfeld (Never "got" it)
Boardwalk Empire (Gave up after 2 episodes)
V (I gave up halfway through Season 2 because I reasoned that as the show had been cancelled none of the ongoing storylines would be completed)
Hawaii 5-0
Republic of Doyle
No Ordinary Family

Hustle is a show I could never get into, every episode I watched I found myself channel flicking fairly early on as it bored me - Leverage however is brilliant and I love it. Far better than Hustle in my opinion

True Blood
The Middle
Dollhouse (i ♥ Whedon, but this was a bloody struggle to get through)
The Big Bang Theory (on paper, it's perfect for me, but sadly, it turned out to be one the worst, canned laughter filled, pieces of crap i've ever seen)

DH could have done with a good tweaking beforehand. Making the Dolls akin to prostitutes didn't sit right with me, and maybe others. But the last ep of S1 (the extra ep if you will) perfectly showed the heights the series could have reached.... big bunch of if-onlys.
