A continuation of the Apple/iPhone thread.

Blackberrys seem to come in for a lot of stick. Personally I love my Curve it does what I want it to do without being flash and gimmicky.

Whats everyones views?

I can't work mine and it costs me £5 a month to use the internet which is free from Orange. Not user friendly at all to send texts or make calls :/ hate it.

I'm trying to muster some passion here, but I really can't bring myself to give a shit about any of these things either way. At least not in a fashion that wouldn't be better suited in the actual forum for talking about this shit.

They're not my favourite of the berries, that's for sure.

Not posted in the Apple thread because I would just rant and rant about iSheep and the following that is Apple - they could sell a turd with the Apple logo on it for £200 and still the little sheepies would buy it in their millions!

Blackberry, similarly with Apple, they have their following and their own flock of sheep. Blackberrys and iPhones are everywhere and the Blackberry and iSheep people constantly think they have the 'better' product or that there's is worth more because of the brand name! If you own an iPhone it does not mean you have more money than someone with a Blackberry and vice verssa. You buy a product to suit your needs and likes, but it appears that iPhones, particularly are there as a status symbol and just to give the 'owner' of the product an ego boost.

Blackberrys and iPhones/iTouch are too samey and virtually everyone has either one. No individuality whatsoever. People need to stop following trends and buy what they want, whatever brand it is, and realise that 'what's in fashion' is often old, overpriced tech!

Some interesting replies. Here is my story as to why I prefer a Blackberry over an iPhone.

I used to have an LG Cookie Black, it was a great little phone and lasted me a year and a half until I accidently scratched the screen in my pocket with my keys when they rubbed on it. I searched around for different phones and didnt really see anything I liked. I had previously had a play around with Blackberrys and iPhones through some of my mates. I found the iPhone to be tacky, full of useless crap you didnt really need and it felt quite heavy in my pocket. I also in general didnt really like the features on it at all and quickly got bored with all the touch screen stuff.

I then had a play around on my friends blackberry curve and found that to be alot better suited to my needs. It was a lightweight phone, I can check my emails fb and twitter on the go and I can do the usual calls and texts oh and I cam BBM for free to my mates so I was happy with it, plus it wasnt touch screen. I searched around for a BB Curve on Pay & Go but it was too expensive so I bought a handset off of ebay for £85 and never looked back since! it does all I want it to do and I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. It basically did what my LG did but with a few more added features. Job done I certainly wasnt a sheep, I merely chose the phone that suited me.

I've had my iPhone 4 since launch and love it just as much now as I did when I bought it. I've never been able to say that about any other piece of tech I've bought other than my iPad. I'm definitely not a follow the crowd person, in fact all my friends have blackberries for bbm and moaned at me for getting an iPhone, but we discovered Whassap and everyone lived happily ever after.

Because you have to charge the things every other day. Mind you, I've heard iPhones are even worse. I mean, what the hell's the point of a mobile that you can't take away with you for a week without having to charge the f***** thing! The technology seems to have got worse over the years!

Mine lasts for about 2 and half days until it needs charging. Mind you Im not one of them who goes out and is glued to the thing! I do an update or send a text here and there but mostly its just keyboard locked and in my pocket.

If you buy a basic non 'smartphone' they go for ages between charges. iPhones only use lots of battery power if you are watching videos or playing games.

Blackberry marketshare is in a freefall. It's down to 11%.. compared to 29% iOS and 52% Android.

It's mostly down to stagnation. RIM has been saddled with its crappy OS for 4 years now. They keep promising QNX, but so far only the Playbook has delivered. Even the Bold, the newest Blackberry, runs OS7 and is stuck with MIDP apps. The same crappy app platform since 2001.

Right now RIM's strategy seems to be "sit around and wait to get bought out".

everyone i know likes them... most geeks though dont like them because most geeks cant afford them, pretty much for the same reason on your other thread, thaats why alot of people dont like apple because they cant afford their products... promise you this reason is true

That's because people use them more. You're comparing a wristwatch with a laptop.

If I only use my phone to talk, and don't use any apps, I get better battery life than any of my non-smart phones ever did. 11 hours of talk time, 14 *days* of standby time.

But I use my phone constantly.. playing games, watching Netflix, reading email, etc.. so I do plug it in when I go to bed.

I dislike all Iphones, Blackberries and overpriced, overated shit like this!!

I could afford an Iphone. I just choose not to have one and I rather just save the money!

A little thing called "Too much information". (TMI) Well nowadays there is bloody "Too much technology". (TMT!!)

I know overall technology is expanding and okay.. most of the time it's a good thing. I just don't like faffing around with special mods and cons.
