Nokia C7 - app download has killed it!

as the heading suggests, a legal App from the Nokia Ovi App store, that I "successfully" downloaded from the Ovi store has completely knackered my beloved moby, once I tried to run it:cry

I just cannot get it to switch on, although I know it has a power as it has a little white light that flashes when the 'phone is alive and kicking. I hold down the power button, can "feel" it powering up but do not get any display screen (the O2 bubble icon).

I have removed the battery, sim and external mem card but nothing.....nada....zilch....el zippo....

I even tried to connect it to another laptop so see if that would restore it to life but no deal.

Any advice or help out there please?
this is a £300 phone going down the Swanee otherwise!!

It seems you are not the first to have this problem (powering up not the app)

Try:- Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key and press power button

Taken from this site:-

There is a link further down the page which may not make happy reading for you.

I h ad a fault with my C7.. Software related. Nokia repaired this under the Warranty and has been fine ever since.

Few minor bugs with Symbian Anna. But nothing to of concern.

I've just clicked on that linky.......oh dear.....
I am so not impressed!! I tried to do the hard reset but as it won't switch on to a screen, nothing responded. I will take it to the o2 shop and if it cannot be fixed, I might ask to swap it for an iPhone!

as you syncing/downloading/uploading when yours went wrong? 'cos this was what I was doing. All I can assume has happened is that during the software update download, connectivity between the 'phone and the laptop was lost and that's why it's got all screwed

My phone just failed to connect to any network. Sent it back to Nokia under warranty and they replaced the main board and returned it,

The update Symbian Anna is fine now since I found downloaded the new patch.

Return the phone to a Nokia dealer they will sort it.

*sits surrounded by important scraps of papers, bills and receipts*

I found it!!

I have the receipt in my hot little hand only, it states on the receipt "Insurance declined not covered for theft, accidental damage or loss"

so, I am hoping that updating your moby, as instructed by their "official" website isn't classed as AcDam!!

*has brand new O2 brochure in hand just in case*
