EastEnders
Emmerdale
Hollyoaks
Corrination street

My favourite is Kim in tonights episode (23/08/2011) After watching her wreck the Minute mart she says "I Cleaned it up in the Add break though" So funny

Whizz back to 1982 (or thereabouts), terraced street in Manchester:

Stan Ogden & Hilda Ogden kiss in the living room....

Stan: "That lipstick tastes funny.... What do you call that flavour?"

Hilda: "Woman, Stanley......... Woman!"

Coronation Street - The Legend that is Blanche Hunt (Maggie Jones)

Blanche to Deirdre and Ken: "Good looks are a curse Deirdre. You and Kenneth should count yourself's lucky!"

Love that quote!

These are all brilliant. I don't think I could pick a winner. Especially Janine & Blanche, they've had enough great lines to sink a fleet of aircraft carriers.

I dont watch corrie, but i did see a corker from Blanche a few years ago!

(Liz walks in room in sparkly dress)

Deidre - "Oh Liz you look wonderful!"

Blanche - "You look like a prostitute!"

It was hilarious! The sarcasm dripping from her voice was a sight to behold!

My favourite was Matthew King's dig at Charity from Emmerdale in 2005. Charity had just revealed to the King family during Jimmy's 40th birthday party that she had slept with him and blackmailed him for £100,000.

Carl: You shelled out a hundred grand?! It would take five years for our binmen to earn that!

Matthew: Longer.

Carl: Humping garbage.

Matthew: That's what he was doing.

Peggy: Shut up I'm not 70!

What a cat fight that was. My favourite line was Pauline, "The only thing you can say about Phil Mitchell is it's a miracle nobody shot him sooner!"

LOL yeah that line was a killer...Looking back the writing was SO much better then...

I can't imagine a catfight as witty and entertaining to watch as that was in this current Eastenders era...

This is my favourite, too. I still remember it even though I dipped in and out of EE back then.

That was one of my favourite ever cat fights, the writing was so witty and very real. I loved that bit that you mentioned but also Peggy's line when describing the Fowlers

''Your husband was a thief, your son's got HIV and the whole lot of ya are a pack of liars''

Then when Pauline had left, Peggy just looks at everyone and goes ''well what you all staring at'', one of my favourite ever EE moments.

Yeah I just loved that entire scene...Barbara and Wendy R.I.P owned it and they really did seem like proper old school East-End matriarchs...

When was the last time we had a slanging match like that in Eastenders...the only thing that came close was 'Bush Push' but they were just laying into each other rather than trading witty insults...
