Given that your pathological hatred of everything Apple does clouds your judgement (and don't give me that rubbish about using an iPhone whilst your S2 was away being fixed as some kind of get out clause), I wouldn't expect you to be able to see that regardless of how unpleasant an individual Steve Jobs may have been, he's been bloody clever in the way he built the company up from what it was when he took back control, to what it was at the point of his death.
) but I can see that Jobs was an exceptional businessman and very clever at marketing. What I cant see is that he is some 'saint like' individual that could do no wrong ?! And this again leads to my thoughts that Apple have peaked. I think he was key in Apples success and I genuinely think that the Apple World will miss the guy. I don't, however, think that the rest of the world will. A good businessman - yes. A 'nice' businessman - no. And dont say that there is no such thing. Many businesses give HUGE donations to charity. Apple has only started doing so since Q4 last year. Apple has only started divulging its full product manufacturing chain since Q4 last year which has led to all the exposure regarding poor H&S records ..... Wiping out Malaria or wiping out Android ? Which is the best thing to be remembered for ? |

My old winmo 6.5 phone had a slide-out keyboard and i did find it tricky to adjust to on-screen on my last phone (HTC Desire). I do sport a Nexus myself now tho

There's a few apps that don't work with it, and some that aren't ideal, but all of my main apps are available, and there's quite a few nice casual games that would be landscape on a portrait device, and they just work. The only pain has been the low memory warning, but I've seen that a lot less since HTC issued the 2.3.5 Gingerbread update. I gained back about 30MB!
I'm like you. I've had all types of smartphones over the years, Palm Treo, several different WinMo, Symbian, iPhone, and Android. The only one I really didn't like was a BlackBerry Curve. It just felt like a step back in time. |

My hatred? Simply because i disagree with something it makes me have hate? Your are seriously delusional. I have a 4S just now, i have a mac, I also have 2 ipods in the house. The missus also has an iphone 4. I don't hate apple so get a grip for christ sake. What i do hate if you want to call it that is their practices. They will crumble if they carry on the way they are. Clever does not equal brilliant either. |

Apple are worried that people will realise that apples are not he only fruit. Android is taking more market share and part of Apples pie that it wants all to itself. Saint Steve my be off to Silicone Heaven but his Holy War against Android is continuing on. It is worth noting that its a war by proxy. Apple havent grown the balls yet to tackle Google. They possibly see it better to pick of the weaker manufactures than go head to head with Goliath.
Here is a few choice quotes from Apple about their latest round of legal battles. "A preliminary injunction regarding Samsung's new Galaxy Nexus, which infringes multiple key Apple patents, is essential to prevent immediate and irreparable harm to Apple". "Absent preliminary relief, by the time Apple prevails in this case – and Samsung's infringement is so clear there can be no serious dispute that Apple will prevail – Samsung will have rushed the Galaxy Nexus, which misappropriates many patented features from the iPhone, to capture market share from Apple that Samsung will be able to retain long into the future," "Even worse ... the full harm to Apple cannot be calculated, making it impossible for Apple to be compensated by money damages." "While Samsung sells products copying features that make the iPhone distinct, Samsung has simultaneously embarked on an advertising campaign designed to tarnish Apple and mock its consumers for considering Apple's products distinctive and, for that reason, valuable," http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/02..._us_ban_nexus/ |

Read your comment back. It's incredibly aggressive in tone. All of your posts about Apple come across like that. That's why I believe you hate Apple.
Maybe because i am sick of people like you. I or anyone says one bad word against the almighty apple and people like you jump right down our throats shouting 'haters!' like some sort of pre-pubescent teen. Its pathetic. No company is perfect. No phone is perfect. They both include apple. Also, if i hated apple like you amusingly state, why would i own anything from them. |

Apple are just chasing their tails here they know they can't ban the phone sales in USA they are simply just out to cause whatever grief they can, nothing else to spend their money on. A few ideas might be worker welfare or RandD though.
By the time anything is sorted in the court the next raft of androids will be out and around we will go again. |

It's a stupid term, something that idiotic teenagers use. When you talk about "jump down our throats", who are you all that you're referring to, because if you mean Android users, I'm one too. Seriously, the tone of your posts is pretty unpleasant and aggressive, so I'm asking nicely, please try and tone it back. |

Apple have become downright robbers and are hell bent on preventing any others competing with them while they rip off folks with £100 16GB Flash Memory or £62 iPhone batteries not to mention their macbooks that cost 3 times as much as others with Windows installed with the same spec.
Apple have lost the plot and are now reliant on litigation rather than innovation for competitiveness. Apple are now on the way down as a computer company and rightly so. |

Apple sold more iPads last quarter than any single PC manufacturer sold PCs (15.43 million iPads, 15.1 million HP computers, 13 million Lenovo computers, 11.9 million Dell computers). [as well as selling far, far more iPads than all the combined competition in the actual tablet market] As well as sales of iPads going up each quarter, sales of Macs are increasing, with 5.2 million Macs sold during the most recent quarter, 26% up on the same quarter a year ago. Apple's shares crossed $500 for the first time today, and the company is worth $460 billion. Apple is the most valuable publicly traded company in the world, and is the largest technology company in the world by revenue and profit, worth more than MS and Google combined. Apple's profits are going up and up, and it has $97.6 billion in cash reserves. On the way down? |

Apple is pathetic with all these lawsuits and they are only seeking to destroy themselves in the process....
They are VERY scared of Android, it's clear Jobs & Co realised it was another Windows vs. Mac scenario and they've decided to try and sue their way out of it....but even then it hasn't stopped Android's astronomical growth and overnight market takeover... Apple seriously need to re-evaluate where they are heading, the iPhone 4S was a joke product, a few hardware upgrades to bring it into line with last gen Android products and Siri (who the hell needs it? Why?), the only thing they are banking on are the Apple faithful to blindly run out and by their products....the upgrades between their phones keep getting smaller and smaller, the iPhone 5 is going to have to be a serious gamechanger to save Apple from disaster. And then there's iOS, Apple have a nerve suing all these companies when they themselves have directly copied features from Android and WP7. They have just completely ruined their credibility with all the lawsuits. They are just desperate now. And it shows. |

Why was the 4S a "joke product"?
Why does the next iPhone "have to be a serious gamechanger to save Apple from disaster"? What disaster? Have you seen Apple's sales figures, its profits, its growth (see my previous post). It's going up and up, no sign of disaster.[Plus despite its dominance of the smartphone market - which was never owned by Apple - Android shows no signs of making a serious dent in the lucrative tablet market] The 4S sold amazingly well, and quickly became Apple's fastest selling ("joke") product... How are the upgrades getting smaller? Was the 4S a smaller upgrade than the 3GS? No... Full redesigns come every other model (e.g. 3GS to 4). People hyped things up based on nonsense reports about a tapered iPhone 5 etc., so got disappointed when it inevitably and predictably was simply an "S" upgrade with a spec. bump. And even so, the 4S sold (& continues to sell) extremely well, even though it wasn't a re-design. The iOS5 Notification Centre was based upon a Jailbreak-only notification system... Apple even hired the person who wrote it. Sure, some bits of iOS seem similar to other OSes...and vice versa...they do all seem to take... inspiration... from each other. As for all the lawsuits... I agree that they're stupid. But I don't think it was realisation that "it was another Windows vs. Mac scenario"... it seemed to stem from Jobs' hatred of Android and how he perceived it to be an iOS rip-off (all that stuff from the bio about his anger at Android and how he wanted to "destroy it"...it wasn't fear of Android). Oh, and they are all doing it... it's hardly just Apple instigating lawsuits... This is from last August. It's probably even more of a mess now... http://blog.thomsonreuters.com/index...ic-of-the-day/ http://graphics.thomsonreuters.com/R.../PATENT_CI.jpg |

Anyway, all the suing is getting absolutely stupid. If i was the judge i was throw the entire lot out from everyone, tell them to bloody grow up. Only the lawyers gain and those that suffer are the users who end up paying more and end up with less choice and far less innovation. Does anyone here, even the devout Apple fans, believe that the world would be a better place if the iPhone was the only smartphone available ? Again - im no Apple fan, but I wouldnt want them to disappear as the competition brings us the best new features and a constant drive to improve. |

I think the more competitors in the market, the better for the consumer. If there was no Apple, you can see Android becoming quite stagnant, which isnt good for anyone. If I had apple stock, I would be looking to sell it before the end of the year. Probably wait for the iphone 5 release (rumoured this year), and then sell. |
