This is just too much!! I can't believe after all the criticism the show has gotten for going for o.t.t., dramatic, implausible plots.. they go and try this! I thought no new desperate attempt at a ratings-puller could top what we've seen recently, but I was clearly mistaken.

So the EE producers plan to conveniently forget that Ian and Sharon used to go out as teenagers and neither Den or Kathy batted an eye?

yeah but most of the viewers never knew about ian sharon.

calma..

i think this storyline is quite believable.. or am i just stupid?
dens always treated ian as a son.. i know i know he always says thats because he was ians dads best friend etc, but seriously this wouldnt be the worse storyline in EE history?
its quite plausible..

have had a drink!!

A question about Den and his children......

The Beckhams called their first born Brooklyn because they said he was conceived there. Was Vicky so called because she was conceived in the Vic???

If it'll bring Kathy back, if only briefly, then it's all to the good. I expect this was thought up when Letitia Dean said she was going to walk... it gives Den a connection to the old-school Square he doesn't really have with Vicky or Dennis or Chrissie. Without Sharon, the Watts' don't feel like one of the classic rooted set, rather like a freshly created bunch for dramatic purpose. Plus, it gives Dennis a character to spar with when the godawful 'Shannis' is put to rest (discovering he has a brother, sibling rivalry, etc -- even if it is Ian). Plus, it gives Pauline another reason to stare daggers at Den, as Ian is the only member of her family who is alive and present who he hasn't corrupted. Well, except Martin.

I'd like to see Kathy back. And it is conceivable that she and Den did the dodgy way back when, considering the player he was back then, he did shag his best mate's [Pete] neice, so why not his wife. Well it would have been his girlfriend... I think Kathy had Ian when she was 16 or 17, and we all know that Den like's them that age.

*cough* Michelle *cough*. *cough* Zoe *cough*.

Yes, that is exactly why Vicki was called Vicki being conceived in the Queen Vic.

God if this is true, then Sharon has had a relationship with 2 half brother's. If you remember the early days of Eastenders, Ian and Sharon used to go out.

Sorry to bring this back up but...

When Den came to visit Michelle in the Hospital to see Vicki for the first time, she made a point to tell him that Vicki was NOT named after the place that she was concieved. Michelle named her Victoria because she wanted to honor her grandfather Albert Beale...and call her child Victoria in reference to the fact that Queen Victoria's husband was named Albert as well.

On second thoughts, that is the dumbest reason for a name I ever heard! Who on earth would name a child after the wife of someone who happened to share the same name as her grandfather LOL.

So maybe Michelle (either conciously or subconciously) named her baby after the Queen Vic, but in her head she made up a cover story. But the official reason for Vicki's name is what i have said above.

Hmmmm, amybe that was what I was thinking, I proabably didn't believe it at the time and thought it was a cover story or a subconcious thing. Having said this, is Vicki's name actually Victoria? I have never heard it ever mentioned that it is, I thought her name was Vicki and that it wasn't short for Victoria.

You must have a good memory anyway to remember all that!

Her full name is Victoria, Vicki is just the shortened version of that.

Yeah but who cares, seeing as the the queen Vic and Vicki are both named after Prince Alberts wife aka Queen Victoria.

Do you think Den knows? I think he prolly does...

+ hehehehehe... Den is a grandpa to FOUR children now!!! HAHAHAHAHA... sorry, I just find that hilarious...

Well yes, I do have a good memory but i am only 21 so was 3 when the storyline first aired!

In New Zealand Eastenders is currently being rerun right from the beginning, five times a week. We are currently up to 1987 episodes in the reruns, so I actually saw the episode where Michelle gave birth to Vicki about four months ago.

Oh yeah, and the reruns of Eastenders are much better than todays version IMO. Hopefully EE will return to its former glory.
