they are not on the updated playlist, i would of thought they would be on it now by the latest, as the single is out on 25th september, they should of been added yesterday...

They are just coming back from 2 chart disasters, so it's not like a radio station as popular as Radio 1 will just embrace them and A-list them straight away.Their radio tour will help, but they definetely need some time to re-introduce themselves.I'm not surprised that it hasn't been added.IMO this song has achieved what it was meant to achieve; it gave them some buzz and persuaded some 2.0/3.0 fans to give them a chance.

The song's not premiered on national radio yet. It'll premiere next week probably, once the girls finish local radio promotion.

And seeing as Radio 1 plays About A Girl at least once a day, wouldn't worry about Freedom not getting played.

Radio 1 snub loads of mainstream acts - they only want to be associated with men/women who strum on guitars and play pianos with there feet whilst smoking a cigar, It's classed as "cool" you see.

I didn't know that.

Strange choice.

I thought it would have been About You Now, not About A Girl.

Apart from a few die-hard chart fans, I don't think anyone really cares about them any more. They're way past their best.

I pretty much believed the same thing after 'Catfights' but 'Freedom' sounds promising, so maybe we should wait to hear the album. You never know where a hidden gem can be...

Well I haven't heard Freedom yet, but from what I've heard of it I'm not too excited. I just think that over the last few years they've gone from being a respectable pop group with some authenticity, quality and class to their music, to becoming just another typical, cheap and sleazy girlband with generic dance songs aimed squarely at the mass chart-buying market - which ironically failed spectacularly with their last album. I hope their people have learned from that, but I honestly can't see the Sugababes reaching anywhere near the heights of their past again. I'd like to be surprised though.

I'd say maybe the song just simply isn't good enough (which it probably isn't), then i remember all the shit radio 1 plays so there goes that theory...

The heights of their past were the heights of the music industry too. When the whole industry can't even reach its respectable 2000-2005 state, then I don't see how we can expect the Sugababes to be as good as they were 10 years ago.The quality of music has declined in general.Anyway, I hardly own any charting songs at the moment, but I liked 'Freedom' and I think it's very close to the sound the Sugababes should have.I sense that you wrote the song off just because you didn't like 'Sweet 7'...

You have to take into account that the Sugababes last 2 albums bombed.

And their comeback single is OK, but nothing special.

their Radio tour they embark on will help!

The reasons why fellow Sept releases by Leona and Pizie Lott are due to them working closely with Radio 1 (Leona is a healiner for Big Weekend Special next year and Pixie is hosting the teen awards) So the Sugababes will still be able to get Freedom plalisted...it is a cool song!

That's news to me that Radio 1 play cool music, most of it is the crap pop/dance stuff that makes the charts.

Now 6 Music play's cool stuff.
