Daniele - S8vS13/the only vet who could separate personal from game?
I wanted to raise a few points about Daniele but didn't want to flood the forum with countless Daniele topics so I thought that I would ask all my questions in one place! I'd like to start by saying that Dani's reappearance in the house has re confirmed her as my fave HG of all time!
I was wondering, do people prefer the Dani in BB8 or the current season? Obv in terms of gameplay the old Dani reigns supreme for me as she was, for me, the strongest player that year and was robbed of her win. However on a personal level, as much as I loved her in 8, I loved her even more this year. She seems to have matured and had great DR sessions and was the most likeable hg in this season for me. LOVED her exit speech especially! I was also wondering, do you think she is the only veteran who understood that this is a game? Having played BB before I would have expected all of the vets to separate game from personal but she seemed to be the only one who could do that. The other four got really pissy with people whenever things weren't going their way and Rachel's goodbye message was frankly pathetic. All Dani ever did to her was evict Brendon, a GAME move and Rachel starts calling her a bitch! What?! Jeff and Brendon were no better. Dani, you will be sorely missed! |

I appreciated Daniele as a houseguest a lot more this time around, but for me, she just reaffirmed some of the bad things I thought about her from BB8. I wanted to like her, but she again proved herself to be cocky, whiny, to cool for school, and frankly deluded about her skills as a player. At the same time, I did kind of see a side to her I liked this time. I imagine she'd be a lot more fun to hang out with outside of the house, when she's not trying to win half a million bucks.
I think in terms of the game, Daniele is nowhere near as good or smart as she thinks she is. She definitely understands its a game better than most, but instead of chiding the couples for playing emotionally, she should have spent more time trying to adapt her gameplay around that instead of being a cold gamebot. Being a gamebot will never win you the money - we see that time and time again in BB and Survivor. Understanding that it's a game is one thing, but understanding how to play it is something she just didn't grasp in my opinion. Rachel for example is an emotional wreck and an awful player, but I don't think how Daniele plays the game is really that much better. She seems to think that to win you need to separate emotions and strategy, but in reality, you need to fuse the two, especially when the rest of the house don't share your gamebot tenancies. (Obviously I realise I'm saying all of this as a viewer, with absolutely no idea of what the game is truly like) All that being said, I think Daniele has made for fantastic value this season. I've enjoyed rooting against her for the last month or so, and whilst I'd be lying if I said her exit wasn't thoroughly satisfying, its a shame that she had to end so soon. Her feud with Rachel has been awesome! |

the one thing she screwed up on was when she had the golden key if she had kept her head down i think she still would of been in there
but i love her gameplay she is a great HM and gameplayer.

I didn't think Dani was too much of a gamebot. I mean, she saw who the big threats were in the house and she went for them. Simple as that. I think her friendships with Kalia and Porsche and even Shelly seemed genuine enough.
Its one of the most pathetic things to see how emotionally Rachel / Jordan are playing. Crying and wishing death upon the other side of the house for just playing a game and trying to better themselves in it. They are ridiculous - especially the arrogance of Jordan. ![]() So, in contrast to the other vets I think Dani has been a lot more mature of a player. Which is a massive achievement when you consider how whiny and babyish she was in BB8. She made mistakes but owned up to them ie. targeting Jeff so soon "I got bored. " I really hope an incarnation of Dani comes back for a future BB (preferably a season without Jeff but who am I am kidding).

Dani didn't entirely separate game from emotion in as far as she was/is extremely bitter with regards to CBS and their relationship with J&J.

I don't think she separated personal from game, she targetted Brenchel when the sensible thing would be to target J+J and jeoparadised her entire game. She also let her feelings for Dominic weaken her position imo.

This is stating the bleedin' obvious but,
Brendon and Rachel have a personal and intimate relationship. Jeff and Jordan have a personal and intimate relationship. No game is going to come before these relationships. Ever. That is all. |

Plus, the comments she made about Rachel are no worse than what Rachel has said about her.
