If you delete them on day 1, presumably that means you put them on iTunes or some other media player on your PC.
Which begs the question, if there are 12-14 songs on the album isn't it likely that there would be more songs out of the 12-14 that you would like than if there were just 10 songs for you to choose from?

Exactly. The only reason I would advocate that is if it cuts Berg out of the picture completely; but then part of the "deal" struck between the parties probably involved a watertight agreement that Collide would be on the album, probably listed as the irstt rack too.

That's exactly what it is. It's about the money more than anything. No surprise really that the Timbaland/RedOne tracks didn't make the last album, the label probably didn't fancy paying the 100 grand for them! Leona's worked with a lot of top producers for this album too and they don't come cheap. They won't spend too much if they are unsure on the return they'll get.

I would say Echo is one of my, perhaps even is my favourite album!! I love all the songs on it and I don't skip any... ( actually I sometimes skip I Got You cause it brings up bad memories 
). I can see why you might think Don't Let Me Down, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Alive and Lost & Found are fillers, but I've actually grown quite fond of them...I think Alive/ Drive is one of my top played Leona songs on my ipod!

Agree with everything you say there, except the IGY part.
Echo is in my top 3 studio albums of all time, along with Shania Twain's Come on Over and Bon Jovi's CrossRoads (if that one counts).

It's not like this is a recent development, where artists have decided to cut down on tracks and/or decided to go for quality over quantity!
Artists have been releasing 10 track albums for decades - it's extremely common place!
Not sure how you can now suddenly claim that it's a rip off. Bizarre.

That if you are deleting tracks (as you said in your first post) then you must be putting the CD on iTunes (or some other media player)?
And if that is the case, then you are almost certainly going to like more tracks out of 14 choices, than you would out of 10 choices?
I really wonder who's on Fire Flies, I hope it's someone good. I would have prefered 12-13 tracks especially with how long she went away but all will be forgiven if we get a re-release with 8 new tracks

Well I must have been lucky then because of all the artists I like, I don't think I've ever bought a 10 track album EVER.
So if this is commonplace as you put it, then as I say I've just been really lucky.
Or more likely, that I've not been lucky and its not as commonplace as you're making out, and its only penny-pinching record labels that are implementing these RIP OFF schemes.

It's very, very good imo. Happy had X Factor promo, huge airplay and was the song she came back with after a huge era. FM was released at her 2008 where she was huge. Collide's been released after an underwhelming era with little radio support. I'm very happy with #4 and 60k

Lol, it is funny reading about Echo and what some of you miss off. Echo is one of the very few albums that I listen to all the way through, I just love every track. I still rate Happy as a great track and of course the video (where is that video, it has disappeared into the ether). I still think Echo was really underrated, and much prefered it to Spirit. I wonder what we will all be saying about GlassHeart lol? These 10 tracks had better be epic, I want to be able to play it through without skipping tracks.

Agree with you completely! Spirit was a bit too RnB and there's a whole chunk ( I Will Be - I'm You) thank I often just skip. Also much prefer the live recording of FTEISYF at the Hackney Empire than the one on the CD..it's so soothing and I often listen to it before I go to bed
