Sons & Daughters - best episode of the series
Last week the announcer said we were very close to the best episode of the series, I'm guessing it will be on this week or the week after. So don't miss it as the guy knows what he's talking about.

I don't remember this series which was shown the year my daughter born so I guess I was busy with other things. Up until now, I have waited eagerly for episodes I remembered but I really cannot remember what might be coming up in the next few weeks. |

Lol, you talk about Rowena as if she were your friend msf. Only teasing man.
There was an article in The Times Eye magazine describing soap moments, ahead of Five's extravaganza on Thursday. The journo was called Tim Teeman or something, almost thought it could be that knowledgable announcer from Five. The guy seemed to like his Aussie soaps - he was wondering I'm guessing in a jokey way if moments from them would be shown - he mentioned some woman falling down the lift shaft in The Young Doctors, the episode of Neighbours which was Bouncer the dog's dream and the siege in S&D which he even wrote was on this week! The later series of Sons and Daughters appear to be getting very far fetched and I have forgotten why I tape and watch this bilge! I guess cult shows with bad acting are ok once in a while.......... |

What era of S&D are you watching now on 5? I dont get how it can be the best episode in the series. Actually there is one episode which has about 5 cliffhangers which I thought was fabulous.
Wayne is about to marry that flake of a girl, whos name escapes me, anyway she is Waynes sister but he doesnt know. Alison with Gordons brother have a race aganist time to stop the wedding but before they can stop it their plave crashes in the outback. Meanwhile Beryls new man has a crazy houskeeper who bashes Beryl and tries to suffocate that huge baby, Robert. That is the only one I can think of being worthy of the best episode title. |

Yes I know that. I love the show but I am trying to come up an episode that could be called the 'best' in the series.

Ok thanks for that. Well has Wayne been shot yet? If not the only thing I can think of which stands out in my mind if the episode where Glen and that girl with all the makeup are killed in the buggy accident. Sorry I hope that didnt spoil anything.

Its ages yet until Wayne gets shot.
I guess we will all have to be patient and keep watching. In the end, we may not even agree with the Five presented on the best episode in the series. He is usually quite good with his judgements though. |

Currently there is the seige going on with Gordon, May, Janice and Neville being held in the boarding house and Wayne and Susan trapped in the Hamilton mansion. Alison is looking for Mickey Pratt so that she can give a statement proving Alison didn't kill somone. For those who haven't seen this weekends episodes yet:

Ahhhh thanks for that 'spoiler'. I have those episodes on video from the run on Thames back all those years ago. Gordon is the only soap character I have seen quite content to be in a wheel chair.
People give S&D lots of stick but I still think its the best soap from Oz. Sure it lost its way at times like the 2 Waynes story but the whole new Patricia thing worked for me in a way that it didnt in other soaps. Funny enough I find that the current Oz soaps are going down a Sons and Daughters route like Home and Away. The sad thing is that Home and Away managed to backhop on the success of Neighbours in the UK and Sons and Daughters just missed the boat. If it hadnt S&D could easily still be on TV today in the same way Neighbours is. I recall rushing home from school to watch it and I wasnt alone. People harked on about how all I'm sure it would be unregonziable if it were still on TV today with Beryl owning a multi national cookie company

I think Sons and Daughters was becoming stale and ridiculous for Aussie audiences, thats why it died!
