iPhone help!

Hiya,

I plugged my iPhone in on the computer, and it made the sound that it makes to charge, but then it isn't charging. On iTunes it doesn't show anything?

Any help?

Sorry to sound like something from The IT Crowd, but have you switched it off and switched it back on again?

By that, I mean reboot your computer, and reboot the iPhone, then try it again.

Would that not delete things?

No. You're only powering off and powering back on again. You're not factory resetting the phone, you're just switching it off by the power button. It has persistent storage.

As with any computer or smartphone, sometimes the running memory gets used up and a quick power off and back on again allows things to reset.

It might be a cliche to switch it off and switch it back on again, but it can often solve things without having to do anything else.

Indeed first port of call in this situation is to reboot both the phone and computer. If that fails the next thing is to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes

No loss of data should arrive from either of the above

Thank you and I switched it on and worked on the computer for a minute then stopped working. But I have the block thingy now so it has been charging. Thank you for your help
