And as I believe his words - all he has said on the subject since is that he doesn't care what people think but he tweeted AFTER the mag came out to say he doesn't have a girlfriend and didn't say he had one in the interview.
The relationship certainly may have developed further now and be at this boyfriend-girlfriend level of commitment (I'm not sure one way or the other and I don't expect him to clear this up) But as John has not outright told us that she is or isn't - we remain in the dark, which I'd imagine is how he'd like it to be. For this reason, I can understand why so many believe she never was/ever will be with him as they have taken John at his word on twitter - as they were his comments after the interview.
I DO want them to be happy (naturally) with whoever really does make them feel like they are floating on air with happiness and completely loved. With someone who makes their days go faster, someone who makes their whole face light up the instant they enter the room, who gives their belly butterflies and causes their heartbeat to quadruple in pace. (I believe they DID find this in each other initially and this could have continued with each other once-upon-a-time .. had they been willing to compromise and that they both wanted their 'happily-ever-after' to be together for a while .. and that they were content until a short time before they split)
So, now all I can hope for them is that they will be healthy, blissfully happy and find this kind of love again with anyone they happen to find it with. (I'll always harbour a selfish desire for them to make peace and regain their friendship one day ... but there's nothing I can to control anything) I'll be glad to know that they are happy if they should tell us but I won't ever be gushing over future partners or squeeeing over anything or thinking 'OMG they're like the cutest like couple evaaaaa!!'

BIB I agree with this. I have to say though even when John and Josie were together I never had a squee moment. I am not a squeeing type person but that is just me
