I really want to get out of BT landline contract and move, i know there was talk of smallprint that you can leave if BT increase price of landline, but have heard conflicting things since, have i left it too late, and have BT closed down this way of getting out, can anybody give me a update on this situation, thanks.

any price rise that is excessive during a contract you should be able to get out of as long as you tell them quickly after the price rise you don't want to pay the extra.

I done that with Tiscali when they took over the phone service I had a few years back. I was still in contract but told then I was not going to pay the extra and wanted out.

No offence, but you couldn't afford the rent for any of them.
