Would Zainab still prefer Syed to go back to Amira, and his child? Restore her perfect ideal? She didn’t condemn Quadim’s attack on Christian (quite the reverse, if I recall? ). If Masood gave evidence against Quadim, hopefully it diminishes Quadim’s ability to try and control or influence Syed. Would Zainab be livid if she thinks Masood telling the truth to the Police has contributed to a missed opportunity of restoring upon her ‘perfect’ family image for Syed -his wife and daughter? If she does, someone had better point out some home truths to her pretty sharpish! Will Zainab condemn how Quadim has treated Amira, keeping his daughter her shut up, controlled? Would she risk Quadim treating their granddaughter the same way, or again wish her son under the influence of that man? Let alone wishing Syed miserable, hopefully she would not accept violence surrounding the child, as she knows full well, whether or not Quadim makes new threats . So not so perfect ideal after all then Zainab?

1: The ep where Christian calls Syed an Old Quentin
This has always been my fave. Syed being all worried, and Christian all grumpy, carrying those boxes in the pouring rain, and then that shared moment by the wall, and Syed's smile, an intimation of coupledom

2:The Qu'ran reading, Domestic Chryed
Again for the simple day to day coupleyness, Each learning to understand the other, and finding space for each other

3: New Year's Eve
From Syed's 'wait for me' to Christian returning like a man mountain on a mission of love. And a big snog.

4:BTF and Perfect Moment
Because of the angst and the sadness of Syed trying to resist, and Christian's certainty.

5:The Wedding
Because it was beautiful, and they each made a sacrifice

6:The Reunion
I loved that it was simple, although I'd expected something more, less made me happier. Syed's tentative hand on Christian's back, and the fact they got a train and JT

7:ABRC and hospital
Christian calling Syed 'My beautiful boy', and his touching worry, and Syed's hope when Zainab appears

8:First Kiss
Because I was instantly hooked, unsurprisingly!

9: I Love You For It
Bless Christian, trying to understand, and Syed getting that was what he was doing

10: A Dinner Party and A Back Alley
What's not to love?

I'm not sure whether Syed would be overly worried about Qadim being around his daughter. I know Qadim's volatile but I'm sure he wouldn't ever hurt his grandchild, the only reason he'd hurt someone is if they've wronged him in some way.

It would be good if they went to the police about Christian's attack though, but then Qadim might blackmail them into not saying anything. I'd love it if the attack came up again, it seems a bit odd that it was casually mentioned just before ABRC, almost as though it was just refreshing people's memories .

Masood was in the chip shop when Qadim left the flat, but he may have seen them driving away?


I'd give you constructive criticism I'm sure it'll be great though!

I will be honest - I think that the pills are going to have a big thing to do with it. She's living in her own little world, not rooted in reality at all, and I can see Yusef dripping poison into her ear regarding Syed, his family, and her dreams of an ideal family situation for him. I think that could play a huge part in all this. I never believed Zainab the first time around when she said she wished Qadim had finished the job - the pause before she said it, the lack of conviction, told me that it was bravado and front rather than really wishing Christian dead - but she's completely not herself at the minute. Her mind is a mess, and she is at the mercy of Yusef and whatever he tells her whilst she is under the influence of those pills.

It's a dangerous time, for Chryed and the Masoods. They're being manipulated and twisted and they don't even realise (I don't think Masood even knows the full extent of it)
