I wonder if Frozen would work at around 4pm? Would kickstart the main evening on the day.

That would be a perfect time. Even though I don't think it'll be the big ratings event others do, it'll still be very effective.

Does the BBC outbid the other channels for these Disney films then?

They've had a Disney contract going back nearly 10 years. They used to have Universal and premiered Back To The Future, E.T. and Jurassic Park. Then ITV got that one and now Channel 4 have it. Paramount and 20th Century Fox used to be BBC and are Channel 4 now. Paramount was ITV for awhile too.

They jump all over the place.

Some great movie premieres coming up on the BBC: Frozen, Monsters University, Penguins of Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Mr Peabody and Sherman, Muppets Most Wanted, and some Tinkerbell movie that I can't remember Also there is The Lady in The van and Pride on BBC 2.

Corabal, I agree with you, Frozen should be on later, 6.30pm would be pefect imo. And EE should be in two parts as it used to be. Personally I think that the animated short that they show should be on at 3.10 and Strictly at around 4pm. Yes that is risky, but SCD has a loyal audience and bad ratings on Xmas Day wouldn't have any effect on its next series. Movies used to be on later, and Frozen is the perfect one to try this out again.

The Disney rights are weird, C5 still show some as well. For another example of weirdness, Tangled premiered on ITV, was never shown again, turned up this year on Channel 4.

Yes very odd. The Walt Disney Classics appear all over. ITV seem to do very short term deals just for Christmas.

They appear to be showing Lion King, 101 Dalmations & Sleeping Beauty this Christmas.
