Looks like The Dark Knight will never get a terrestrial premier here. Perhaps Warner Bros are holding off having itv show it until TDKR is released on blu-ray with the accompanied boxset and commentary of all three films in the trilogy?
How come it's taking so long? I thought they would've coincided it with the cinema release of TDKR, given how they had left it so long.

And would ITV have a cropped version of the 2.35:1 print, or one with opened-up scenes like the Blu-ray IMAX clips?

Not a premiere, however, this has been rarely shown on terrestrial, given that this'll now probably change with the fact it's on ITV. Cut to shreds too I wager

Monday 20th August - The Big Lebowski (1998) - 9.00pm-11.25pm, ITV4

The long-awaited terrestrial premiere of Disney's Beauty and the Beast has been pencilled in for Sunday 26th August on Channel 5. No time confirmed yet but likely to be around 5pm.

It's taken 21 years but we got there eventually! Finally this classic will play out to a mainstream family audience on free-to-air television.

I thought the BBC had the rights to Disney's back catalogue?

ITV aren't how they used to be, in that respect.

It's complicated...
BBC have the rights to everything...
C4 have the rights to a few old films (such as Sister Act)....
C5 have the rights to some animated family films...

I predict The Dark Knight will be on ITV in the run up to xmas. Batman Begins didn't appear on terrestrial until December 2009, despite being released in summer 2005.

What I'd like to know is why Rocky Balboa (2006) and Halloween (2007) haven't appeared on UK TV yet.

I swear I saw that on ITV2? As for the Halloween remake, let it rot in hell. One of the worst movies of the last 10 years. It didn't need to be remade.

Don't ask me to name any (oh well here's one - The Klansman, a 1970s film that was scheduled, but never did appear on ITV all those years ago!) but I am sure there are hundreds, probably a few thousand films old, new, and inbetween - that have never been shown on tv.

All Film4 for the following

Thursday 16th August - Frozen (2010) - 9.00pm-10.50pm
Saturday 18th August - Hansel and Gretel (South Korean Horror remake, 2007) - 11.35pm-1.50am
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansel_...tel_(2007_film) for info on this

Thursday 23rd August - Mother (2009) - 11.05pm-1.35am

Another Korean horror, my current source has this currently mixed up with a 1996 film of the same name, info on this film here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_(2009_film)

Looks like Film4 are having an Asian cinema season, which is good. One can hope anyway.

It's wrong. DigiGuide pulls up old data if descriptors are missing. It should fix itself tomorrow with the correct information.
