Not finding many premieres as of late, maybe it's a cutdown as Christmas is looming.

What's happened to Channel 4?! They used to show so many big movies, but I haven't seen anything major from them for ages!

I'm sure it'll pick up soon but they did quite a few big films this year like Avatar, New Moon etc I imagine their next big terrestrial premiere will be Iron Man 2 or The A Team.

There is surprisenly a large numbers of films from 2009 that have yet to be aired like The Hangover, 2012, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Up etc but I think most will be shown by Christmas.

The Hangover, 2012, Clowdy... are due to premiere on ITV/C5 it takes around 4 years for them to premiere

Up will take an extra year because it has a run on Disney Cinemagic, then Sky Movies, then terrestrial TV and the BBC likes to premiere stuff at Christmas

I always thought C4 would be the ones to show 2012. At least they could be guaranteed to show it in the correct ratio. It'll be unwatchable otherwise.

And if they delay the premiere until 2013, then that's really missing a trick. Why do some channels take so long? Films are generally 2.5-3 years to be premiered on terrestrial.

2012 would be perfect on 21st December, if C5 are smart enough!

It'd be unwatchable, no matter what aspect ratio it's in... Truly awful film.

Not if you've seen the film.

(sigh) It's actually a damn good actioner, but sadly, Emmerich peppers it with American sentiment at times, which does ruin it.

Once it gets going, though, the pace doesn't let up.

It was ludicrous, not good ludicrous (like Eagle Eye), in a bad lukewarm, not even vaguely entertaining way

Oh well, we'll have to agree to disagree, but disagree to part...

Just seen a trailer for Sunday films on Channel 5 which included the following:

Disney's Dumbo
Gamer (Premiere, this Sunday)
Shoot 'Em Up (Premiere, Sunday 7th October)
Next (Premiere)
Valkyrie (Premiere)

So presumably we can expect all of the above to air within the next month or so.

Channel 5 haven't shown that many premieres this year. Hopefully we'll have a few more premieres in November and December.

Zack and Miri? Are you sure about Valkyrie? It's a 20th Century Fox, so I'd assumed it would be Channel 4

100% positive that Valkyrie was included in the trailer. Looking forward to that one, looks to be the highlight.

I didn't see Zack and Miri in it but I could be wrong.

I thought Valkyrie was MGM but it could well be Fox that has the TV rights to it.

Anything else in the trailer or was that it in terms of premieres? I remember Channel 5 did this great trailer for films a few years back so good to see advertising their film lineup.

I think Paranormal Activity is due a TV premier this year. Has Saw V had its terrestrial airing yet?

Yeah. It's a really good trailer actually, using film credits to form adjectives to describe how the films make you feel.

Those were the only premieres mentioned specifically in the trailer. Maybe the trailer was just covering October.

Paranormal Activity should air this year as it premiered in 2009, probably be on Channel 4 nearer Halloween.

Hopefully Channel 5 will have mostly premieres up to December. TBH I was expecting Hatfields and McCoys to end up on Sundays but I think it'll get a weekday slot or Saturday.

Given Channel 5's relationship with Warner Bros with their recent TV shows, I think they should secure the rights to their 2009/10 films. Something like Inception or Sherlock Holmes would do very well for them.
