Not necessarily. And even if it is, they'll just censor them even if shown later because more people are watching. Xmas is a shit time for films on TV in that respect.

ITV never have their big films on Xmas day. No major advertising.

Doesn't stop them putting their most watched drama series Downton Abbey on.

Anyway, according to Digiguide that is when and where it will be shown. Not confirmed yet of course.

Death To Smoochy is a premiere for Film 4, heck, E4 even list a film as a premiere for the channel even though it has already been on Channel 4 or Film 4 before it.

I wouldn't class Death to Smoochy, Age of Consent or Mr St. Nick as "premieres" in that sense. I'm pretty sure all 3 have been on one of the 5 main terrestrial channels before, well, maybe not Mr St Nick, but that's a made for TV movie anyway. Death To Smoochy has been on Channel 4 before, I remember recording it and then getting it on DVD because I thought it was good.

Xmas update! These times will likely change. Anyone know why ITV have suddenly got Disney movies, anyone?

Saturday 22nd December
10.00am-11.45am - Space Chimps (2008), Channel 4
8.10pm-10.00pm - A Christmas Carol (2009), Channel 5
9.00pm-10.45pm - Four Christmases (2008), Channel 4
1.00am-2.25am (Saturday night/Sunday morning) - Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (Finnish, 2010), Channel 4

Christmas Eve
5.05pm-6.20pm - The Lady and the Tramp (1955), BBC1 - I don't recall this ever being on terrestrial television, anyone is free to correct me
6.45pm-8.15pm - A Christmas Carol (2009), BBC1 - This is the same listing as the version on Channel 5 on Saturday, I don't know which one is correct

Christmas Day
3.10pm-4.40pm - Shrek Forever After (2010), BBC1
3.20pm-5.15pm - Tangled, ITV1 - In the listings is a 1996 movie of the same name, i've read recently that Tangled is going to be appearing on ITV1 for some reason as opposed to BBC, don't know the reason for this, anyway, listing this as the Disney film, not the 1996 film.

Boxing Day
4.30pm-6.00pm - How to Train Your Dragon (2010), BBC1
7.20pm-9.00pm - Alice in Wonderland (2010), BBC1
10.45pm-12.45am - Wuthering Heights (1992), Channel 4

Thursday 27th December
11.30am-1,25pm - Astro Boy (2009), Channel 4
1.25pm-3.25pm - City of Ember (2008), Channel 4
3.00pm-4.55pm - Secretariat (2010), BBC2 - I don't know this to be a premiere, but I don't remember it being on at all, and the year perhaps indicate it is, it's not listed as a TV movie either, so I guess it's a premiere.
3.55pm-5.40pm - The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010), BBC1
11.00pm-2.40am - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), Channel 4 - Swedish original

Friday 28th December
11.30am-1.20pm - Planet 51 (2009), Channel 4
4.10pm-5.40pm - Monsters vs. Aliens (2009), BBC1
12.00am-2.30am (Friday night/Saturday morning) - The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009), Channel 4

Saturday 29th December
12.00am-2.25am (Saturday night/Sunday morning) - The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009), Channel 4

Sunday 30th December
10.00pm-11.30pm - Moon (2009), BBC2

New Year's Eve
8.30pm-10.15pm - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), BBC1
9.15pm-11.15pm - Julie and Julia (2009), BBC2 - Again, not sure if this has been on yet, feel free to correct

New Year's Day
10.55am-12.30pm - Race to Witch Mountain (2009), BBC1 - Not sure if premiere
4.00pm-5.30pm - The Princess and the Frog (2009), BBC1
6.30pm-8.00pm - Up (2009), BBC1

Phew.

The original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has been on Film4 before, so isn't really a première, it's sequels however have not
...
Monsters vs. Aliens was a big première on BBC1 last Christmas day
...
I know that the BBC play Race to Witch Mountain out every christmas, but I think it's normally the original rather than the remake so it's probably a première

Why are Disney films on ITV? What is the new rule? I thought it was new: BBC and old: C5 but obviously something has changed, so can someone explain the new rules?

Here then is another revised update. Special thanks to Corabal and others for corrections and contributions!

Note - Premieres listed mean they have never before been shown on terrestrial tv. I list made for tv movies. The biggest issue is some guides/listings show a film as a premiere when in fact it has been shown on another channel - worst culprits are Film 4/Channel 4!! Apologies for any errors - as Corabal says feel free to correct and we'll update accordingly!
