I've noticed Channel 4 haven't shown any Paramount films from 2010 onwards so its possible its in limbo plus apart from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Warner Bros films from 2009 and 2010 have yet to be shown,

The Karate Kid remake is almost 3 hours long? What the hell for?! I know ads have a small part to play so it's probably under 2 and a half but it doesn't need such a long run time! The original wasn't even that long!

Perhaps it's a result of the Smith family's ego getting big and wanting plenty of screen time?

The film runs 140 mins, but how dare you criticise a film that came from the director of The Pink Panther 2?

Oh, I didn't realise a cinematic maestro was in charge... I apologise unreservedly...

Sorry for being lazy/uninformed but what is the typical progression timeline for a film?

Cinema release;

then DVD/Bluray/PPV 6 months later?

Sky Movies/Film 4 1 year later?

Terrestrial 2 years later?

Any expert insight appreciated.

DVD/BD/PPV - 4 months

Sky Movies - 8 months (longer for certain films)

Can I also suggest a "Movies we're waiting for" list, of stuff that hasn't premiered? Only add if the film is 3 years old or more.

Films we're waiting for
Gran Torino
Clerks II
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Zombieland
Iron Man 2

Feel free to add

Film 4 are set to broadcast a film on the same day it is released in the cinema and available on demand.

Unfortunately I won't be contributing - no offence but I could add several hundreds (and more) films that have been made over the last 80 years that have never been shown on British tv!

That's fantastic news, ta. I was disgusted that Odeon barely touched Ben Wheatley's Sightseers, as well as completely ignoring another British film, Cockneys Vs Zombies, which was also a great laugh.

They told me "There's no demand for it." Well, there isn't if you don't promote it! Meanwhile, the shitty Skyfall was showing every 20 bloody minutes. *And* it was crap. As well as being bloody awful!

I watched that recently and oh dear IMO it was poor - probably the worst Bond film ever.
