Don't forget this Friday, July 5th:

A Field in England (Film 4, 10.45pm-12.10am)

At that length, I'm guessing no adverts. IMDB's saying a round 90 mins for the length, but this film is premiering on that day on Film 4, the cinema, DVD and Blu-ray.

Taken from Digiguide:
Michael Smiley and Reece Shearsmith star in this psychedelic trip into magic and madness from Ben Wheatley, award-winning director of Down Terrace, Kill List and Sightseers. During the English Civil War, a small group of deserters, including the lacemaker and alchemist's assistant, Whitehead flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. They are captured by two men: O'Neil and Cutler.
(Premiere, Widescreen, Subtitles, Audio Described, 2013, 15)

Director: Ben Wheatley
Starring: Julian Barratt, Michael Smiley, Reece Shearsmith, Peter Ferdinando, Ryan Pope, Richard Glover

Virgin Media had an exclusivity deal for a couple of years, and I think that's only just ended (or about to end)

Does that film qualify as the most screened on terrestrial tv and/or ITV??

You're right - more and more folk just sign up to Netflix or Lovefilm or buy films off the net - said it on here before - seen tons of films that have never been screened/not shown in ages.

Another film that took absolutely ages to premiere! Although I was expecting it to be on Channel 4. I wonder which ending they'll show..

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 1 soon? ITV are showing Philosopher's Stone next week, and I take it the rest will follow weekly, with Deathly Hallows to premiere before The X Factor? Just a thought!

Ta for the info. Glad it's coming to an end. SD-only is why I hardly bother with it.

I haven't seen any of the PA films, but almost every TV screening of a film is the theatrical version. Only occasionally do you get the 'harder cut' or whatever comes out on Blu-ray/DVD, such as when C4 showed both versions of Taken within the space of two weekends, so I waited for the 18-rated version (which can only air from 10pm).

They said, at the start of Bill & Ted yesterday (in 2.35:1!) that ...Stone will be the first in a season of Harry Potter films. I bet all of the early ones are their tired 16:9 prints

Oh dear. Another HD snob. Oh well. Each to their own. Your loss I suppose. Just think of all the good shows you might miss just because they're not in HD.
